Dear Phill:
Operation Sudden Fury. Things don't look so good over here. If you
think what went down at Abu Gharib was bad, wait til you see what our
Commander in Chief is cooking up for Saddam's sudden demise.
We got word back today that we are to expect an order at any time, day
or night, to stand ready to immediately relinquish custody of Saddam
to a special Iraqi group being hastily assembled on the fly. It is
apparent that since the UN, the World Court and the International War
Crimes Committee have unanimously expressed zero interest in
protecting Saddam's human rights as a defendant anything that happens
to him will quickly pass into the history books. After Saddam is
killed the UN, the Pope and all the others will file their standard,
belated anger over something they ignored so that it could happen in
such a way they can claim they were blameless for not preventing...
just as we and the rest of the civilized world crossed our arms and
did nothing when the Israeli's were given carte blanche to convict and
execute Adolf Eichmann. Maybe we should change our domestic laws to
permit family members of murder victims to officiate over the trials
of murder suspects.
Isn't it curious that Milosovich is being tried by the Intl Court at
Hague but Saddam will be tried by people who have already convicted
him??? But then... Milosovich is Caucasian and Saddam is not. The news
media is so thrilled to get pictures of Saddam on trial they are not
fulfilling their Constitutional obligation by asking... "Hey! Isn't
there something wrong with these pictures were taking? Shouldn't
Saddam be tried by an international court?" If, on the one hand, Bush
is demanding that the entire world get involved in Iraq's
democratization and security... shouldn't Bush also be demanding that
the entire international community get involved in ensuring Saddam is
tried by an objective panel of international judges?
America will get another black eye. Thank you, Mr. Bush!
Why didn't we just shoot Saddam when we captured him and claim there
was a firefight???
