Plan to Cut Federal Security Unit Decried

The Bush administration wants to overhaul the troubled agency in
charge of security at most federal buildings, cutting personnel and
giving a bigger role to local police.
Lawmakers are fighting the plan, saying that it could leave government
employees more vulnerable to crime or attacks by terrorists.
The police agency, the Federal Protective Service, employs about
15,000 contract security guards at government buildings nationwide.
It has been under fire for its performance in the Washington region,
where a report last year found that 30 percent of the service's guards
analyzed had expired certifications.

Looks like Prezidunce George W Nero needs another 9-11 to boost his
low poll numbers?
Wonder how many local police budgets are going to be busted paying for
all the overtime??
BTW I almost forgot that this is the same AWOL Georgie who cut funding
for the Clinton era 100,000 extra police officers???

I am fearful that the White House Wackos will try another stunt that
leads to them suspending the constitution and rule by decree until the
world is safe.
Hopefully they are gone when their term is up but as they march us all
down the road to oblivion I am skeptical.
