Republican Bush spends hundreds of billions on his 2 failed quagmires |
The former World Bank chief economist Joseph Stiglitz has claimed that
the total cost of the Iraq war could amount to $2 trillion, including
lost productivity and casualties caused by troops leaving the US
economy to fight.
Last month, a Washington defence research group said that secret
spending by the Pentagon was worth $30bn, the highest level of such
spending since the cold war.

US costs for Iraq war top $320bn
David Fickling and agencies
America has spent more on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan than on all
its foreign wars up to 1939, following the passage of a bill allowing
$66bn in new funding for the Pentagon.
Spending on the three-year war in Iraq now totals $320bn, with a
further $89bn being spent on operations in Afghanistan.

Where talkin' lotsa dough here, folks. Scattered to the winds.
Not to mention 2,799 American lives scattered to the winds and untold
tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis and Afghanis scattered to the
winds.

Haven't you said it was a war for oil? Don't we get the money back in oil?
Did we make a profit? I think we should spend it on some good ;) voting
machines for Florida and Ohio. What do you think?

But --" the Cost of the war" actually represents the profits of war,
since the money is being transferred from the taxpayers to the coffers
of the profiteering corporations who are providing the materials and
services -- at huge profits --
Why would THEY want an end to the war?
