Ohio's love for Bush fades
President's approval rating here hits its lowest point
BY HOWARD WILKINSON | ENQUIRER STAFF WRITER
A new Ohio Poll out Friday showed President Bush's approval rating in
Ohio at 35 percent - not just the lowest of his presidency, but the
lowest of any of the four presidents in the 25-year history of the
University of Cincinnati-based poll.
For Ohio Republicans, several of whom face tough election battles, the
poll had no good news - and prompted them to cite their independence
from the nation's top Republican.
Gov. Bob Taft's approval rating, which has steadily dropped over the
past four years, also has hit a new low, at 26 percent.
