Republicans hide behind terror |
From The Chicago Tribune, 8/11/06:

GOP: Ready to 'benefit' from terror
For an idea of how the Republican Party will approach the averted
terrorist assault on trans-Atlantic airliners this week, how that
might play into the fall election cycle in the United States, the
depth of research that Republicans are ready to bring to bear on their
races and the attacks that the GOP plans on its "cut-and-run''
opposition in the Democratic Party, the best place to go is the
Republican Party.
Here's a memo circulated by the National Republican Congressional
Committee today.

Recent events have reminded us that we continue to operate in a
pivotal phase in the Global War on Terror.
In the days to come, you should move to question your opponent's
commitment to the defeat of terror, and in turn, create a definitive
contrast on the issue.
You will certainly benefit from bringing into stark focus the
cut-and-run, surrender message that Democrats coast to coast are
currently -- and foolishly -- embracing.
To aid you in this effort, we are including three key votes related to
the War on Terror as well as materials provided by the RNC.
As always, please feel free to contact the NRCC Communications
Division at (202) 479-7070 if you have any questions.

Do you suppose Americans are stupid enough to buy into it yet
again...probably, given how dumb and uniformed we are. Where the hell are
the Democrats pointing out that four years of war, 2600 dead Americans, over
$300billion spent, the jihadis are just as strong as ever plotting away? The
fact that these terrorists got as far as they did should illustrate to all
but the most ignorant that the "war on terror" has been less than effective.
Shouldn't the Dems be stating that a little more forcefully? They seem to be
playing dead once again. One definition of insanity is doing the same thing
over and over and expecting a different result. It is time for a change.

don't link Iraq with the WoT - that is the Reichbugs game.
The fact that these terrorists got as far as they
did should illustrate to all but the most ignorant that the "war on
terror" has been less than effective.
I dissagree, they didn't "get far" because we didn't know about them.
They were ALLOWED to "get far", so as to cast a net of evidence which
will be used in the British Courts to put away these Alledged
Terrorists for a VERY LONG TIME.
They were monitored and had an undercover agent in their group for over
a year.
this was a proffesional bust - I a commend all involved in saving the
lives of so many.
Dems need to jump on this NOW! Commend the agents involved and HAMMER
AWAY THAT THE WAR WILL BE FOUGHT AND WON THROUGH LAW ENFORCEMENT,
They need to HAMMER AWAY THAT IT WILL ALSO BE LOST USING THE MILITARY,
who's track record remains zero.
Armies are great at invading and taking land - they SUCK at tracking
down terrorists.
Dems NEED TO GET A FUCKING CLUE........or they will LOSE AGAIN IN NOV.
Shouldn't the Dems be stating
that a little more forcefully?
They need to separate Iraqnam out from the WoT - AND they need to
endorse the Law Enforcement model and condemn the military model WRT to
the WoT.
They are doing NEITHER!
fools.
They seem to be playing dead once
again. One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and
over and expecting a different result. It is time for a change. Bob
dems will get what they deserve in the end.

yep.
simple way to defeat this stance - if the dems were smart - which they
still seem to NOT be.
Simply state that the WoT was/is and always shall be one of Law
Enforcment - as the dems have always stated.
Unlike the GOP which thinks the WoT is about using Armies, which only
results in getting bogged down in civil wars instead of dealing with
the terrorists.
GOP is against the Law Enforcement model, even when it has shown to
work over and over and over in busting terrorist cells.
