Medicare Bill Would Enrich Companies
Hundreds of Billions for Employers, Health Firms

The Medicare legislation that passed the House near dawn on Saturday
and is moving toward a final vote in the Senate would steer at least
$125 billion over the next decade in extra assistance to the health
care industry and U.S. businesses, in addition to its widely heralded
goal of helping older Americans pay for prescription drugs.
The largest chunk of that assistance, according to congressional
budget estimates, would be $86 billion worth of payments and tax
benefits for employers, giving them a new subsidy for the health
benefits that many already provide to retirees.
Health maintenance organizations, hospitals and physicians also would
be paid more by the government for treating the 40 million elderly and
disabled people in Medicare, the estimates show.
Whether this extra money, part of a $400 billion plan to redesign the
program, is warranted remains a matter of intense debate.
Regardless of whether the payments are needed, the bill's generosity
to employers and major sectors of the medical industry helps explain
the aggressive lobbying campaigns for the legislation by groups
including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the American Medical
Association.

A BI-Partisan Senate Committee wrote the bill
1 year into the REPUBLICAN Controlled congress and Whitehouse.
30 years of DEMOCRATICLY controlled congress including years with Billy
Bubba Klinton spewing goo on the oval office and on blue dresses not ONCE
did any of them do ANYTHING about precipitin drug package for the less well
off Seasoned Citizens
Demonrats wants a drug package that helps Bill Gates, Ross perot, Ted
Kennedy etc,, Millionaires and Billionaires that can certainly afford their
own medical care.
Republicans want the package to go to the retired pensioner who needs help.
G W Bush, is fighting a global was on terrorism, and fulfilling campaign
promises.
Democrats only wanna *****, *****, ***** and do nothing more than to *****.
GW is Doing something. Demonrats are bitching.

You still can't keep your mind off Clinton's penis, huh? Maybe you should
consult the same shrink that Ken Starr did.

I don't know what a "precipitin" drug package is. Neither do I know what
"Seasoned Citizens" are.
Demonrats wants a drug package that helps Bill Gates, Ross perot, Ted

No, Democrats want a drug package that helps people, not companies.
Republicans want the package to go to the retired pensioner who needs help.
Is that why $125 billion is being given to business?
G W Bush, is fighting a global was on terrorism, and fulfilling campaign
promises.
Sure. Like cutting carbon dioxide emissions, not robbing Social Security,
not doing nation building, being a uniter instead of a divider?
Democrats only wanna *****, *****, ***** and do nothing more than to *****.
GW is Doing something. Demonrats are bitching.
It sounds like it is you who is bitching.
I'm glad to see, since you didn't refute it, that you agree that the bill will
direct at least $125 billion to the health care industry and other U.S.
businesses. This is just another example of Republican corporate welfare. It
is the first phase of the Republican plan to eliminate Medicare.

No DemonRats just wanna *****.
Now you demonrats are spewing that Drug Companies will benefit.
Guess what so will Walgreens and any other drugstore.
They will make a profit on goods sold.
I guess the FOODSTAMP program doesn't help the love of your life walmart?
Half of walmart workers are on foodstamps and half of walmarts grocery sales
are paid for with foodstamps.
You demonrats are LOSING on this one too. Your arguments have no basis in
fact.
