Heads up military dudes. This is the kind of thing a head-chopping
'management' does right before they automate, decommission, lay-off,
restucture, reorg, outsource, offshore your butts to the dole queues.
Don't take the bait.
Navy Initiates Sea Swap Experiment

Norfolk, VA, October 25th, 2004, 7:05 a.m.) The Navy is trying something new with its
ships and sailors. You could say they're getting flipped around at sea. Your NewsChannel
3's Stacy Davis explains inside this story.
...
It's an idea still in the experimental stages and sailors seem a little uneasy about leaving
the ships they have come to love. As one sailor puts it, "That's my ship, been on it for
three years, I'm sad to go, I was like crying when I left my rack." That loss of ownership
and the worry that someone else could mess up "your" ship are legitimate concerns for
the Navy.
It's hoping this five month adjustment period before the deployment will help. Another
concern is losing the port calls sailors would normally get in transit. But, the Navy is
promising the sailors at least five days in a hotel with meal cards in perhaps Naples, Italy
or Rota, SPain on both ends of their swap.
