Elephant eyes on us: The GOP is eyeing Seattle as a possible site for
the 2008 Republican National Convention.
That's the word from Ken Mehlman, national Republican Party chairman,
who was in town the other day.
Some of the 31 cities on the hot list are already ducking for cover.
Chicago's Mayor Richard Daley said thanks but no thanks this week.
Chicago wants to focus on a possible bid for the 2016 Summer Olympics.
San Diego sounded a similar note.
Mayor Jerry Sanders, in a statement, said, "The city has other
important priorities."
As for Seattle?
The city is taking a pass, too, a spokesman for Mayor Greg Nickels
said Friday.

The RNC has also approached Charlotte, NC. While not yet official, there is
little indiction the city will change its mind from its 2000 decision to say
no, thanks.

Maybe they could go to a Texas city? Or would that be too embarrassing to
the Republicons to be refused by a Texas city?
What about New Orleans?
Maybe GWBush's home town of New Haven?
Then, again, they could go someplace where they would all be right at
home -- Munich, where the Nazi Party got its start.
Or maybe the Republicons could all go to Hell.

Shhhhh! They all do, eventually, but they tell them they're entering

Are there any Federal Prisons available? Probably not one big enough or
empty enough to hold 'em all.

Hey Why Not hold it in New Orleans???
Who knows they may even be able to get old "BROWNIE" to run it for
them?
Of course that assumes the city will still be there by that time.
BTW Harry you think maybe someday they may name a Hurricane
"BROWNIE"???

Perfect! Hold it at the New Orleans Convention Center where they didn't send
any relief to about 30,000 evacuees because they "didn't know they were
there" despite blanket news coverage. Maybe the ghosts of some of those who
died waiting at the doors of the Convention Center will come back to haunt
the Pugs!

I think the Republicans should hold their convention in GITMO. It's a
perfect place. Completely outside US law where they can be themselves.
They can openly wheelbarrow around the cash big business lobbyists are
dumping on them without fear of arrest, much less the corrupt, toothless
House and Senate wink-and-a-nod-and-all's-forgiven ethics committees.
There's a lot for Republicans to do there to relax like water boarding
GITMO prisoners and other "fraternity pranks." Our presidential midget
can have some publicity photos taken of him standing besides pyramids of
naked GITMO prisoners being sodomized. Smirk for the camera Shrub!
