Senators, Congresscritters Call for Rove's Head |
"The White House promised if anyone was involved in the Valerie Plame affair,
they would no longer be in this administration. I trust they will follow
through on this pledge," Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid of Nevada said.
"The president should immediately suspend Karl Rove's security clearances and
shut him down by shutting him out of classified meetings or discussions," said
Sen. Frank Lautenberg, a New Jersey Democrat.
"It is time for the President to keep his word. Karl Rove should be fired and
prosecuted to the full extent of the law," said Rep. Louise Slaughter of New
York.
"The recent disclosures about Mr. Rove's actions have such serious implications
that we can no longer responsibly ignore them. The intentional disclosure of a
covert CIA agent's identity would be an act of treason," Rep. Henry Waxman
said.
Sen. Charles Schumer, a New York Democrat, wrote the White House asking Rove to
"tell Americans what he knew, when he knew it, and who he may have told about
Valerie Plame's identity in order to clear the air once and for all."
In September and October 2003, McClellan rejected as "ridiculous" any suggestion
that Rove was involved in the Plame leak.
When asked at an Oct. 10, 2003, briefing whether Rove and two other White House
aides had ever told any reporter that Valerie Plame worked for the CIA,
McClellan said: "I spoke with those individuals... and those individuals
assured me they were not involved in this... the leaking of classified
information."

Filthy Democrats, all of them! You should write to your Republican reps
and congressmen and urge them, nay, plead with them, to come out
publicly and support Rove. It is the only right thing to do. After all,
if he were to say the word, their reelection chances would be dim indeed.

Lautenberg and Schumer are just the kinds of Dims who would be most
likely to turn this problem for the Bush administration into even
larger GOP victory margins in 2006.

Don't laugh so foolishly. Truth and history are on my side. We most
recently saw
this effect of the scummier Dems and their obstructionism on Social
Security. All
the invective from the Usual Suspects only made the Democratic Party
even more
repellent to Americans.
Bush may be stupid with Rove. And even in 2002 I felt the GOP should
not rely on
Democratic idiocy and repellent behavior to count on more won elections
and not
let it go to their heads. Sooner or later it will be too good for the
GOP to remain
true. (So far, it has been true.) Yet even with this Rove business
the Dims may
act in ways too good to be true -- but yet increase American rejection
of the Dims
and default favoring of the GOP yet again in 2006. (Don't forget the
arrogant as
well as illegitimate and subversive behavior on the part of many Dims
and many on
the Left associated with the Dims at every election, when it comes to
judicial
activism. Here, it will be what is likely -- not a Dim victory in 2006
but instead
a GOP self-destruction, if they bargain with Dims and get watered-down
touchy-
feely judges or politicians or lawyers rather than judges who will, for
once, return
the Supreme Court to legitimate rule of law rather than activism, with
fundamental
reliance on original intent, the mark of legitimacy and true measure of
not only
honesty but patriotism.)

What's behind these pissed of democrats is a federal prosecutor waiting in the
wings. He has until October to indict. What if he takes that long and all that
