The 50th San Francisco International Film Festival will present the
North American Premiere of the politically charged documentary "Orange
Revolution" on Thursday, May 3rd at 3:45 at the Sundance Cinemas
Kabuki. Directed by Steve York, the film looks at the fraudulent
elections in the Ukraine in November 2004, and how a nation responds.
Hundreds of thousands of people brave freezing temperatures to pack
the streets in protest. Set to infectious local music, this is their
story, their determination, their victory. Culled from more than 300
hours of original and archival material, including footage never
before seen even in Ukraine, this is an invigorating, emotional call
to action. The film also screens on Sunday, May 6, and Thursday, May
10. We do expect the director to be in attendance. For tickets, visit
http://fest07.sffs.org or call 925-866-9559.
