April 01
One person each is killed at Sodhanara in Baramulla and Chandrigam in
Pulwama.
April 02
A civilian, Muhammad Yaqoob Peer is killed in custody by the personnel
of 14-RR at Sumlar in Bandipore, Baramulla. Indian troops kill
Muhammad Yousuf Khatana at dardpora in Islamabad. A mentally retarded
woman Zareena is killed by troops at Sani Gull bridge in Shopian. One
person each is killed at Hadipora in Pattan and Thandi Shah in Doda.
April 03
Indian troops kill one person each at Dalwas in Islamabad and Zawroo
in Shopian. A dead body is recovered from Janori in Gool, Udhampur.
One person is shot dead at Khelani in Banihal area of Doda. Six youth
arrested from Naristan in Tral, are used as human shields by troops.
April 04
Troops kill one person at Satkuji in Handwara. A dead body is
recovered from Padshahi Bagh in Srinagar. One person each is killed at
Didda in Gool area of Udhampur and Rote Marmat in Doda. A woman,
Roshni is arrested by troops in Banihal and subjected to awful
torture. More than 60 people including two children and seven women
are injured in a powerful blast in Shopian area of Pulwama.
April 05
Troops kill one person each at Gangtha in Baderwah, Haigam in Sopore
and Sanjkot in Rajouri.
April 06
Troops kill a youth at Shajru, in Mohore. Another person is killed at
Chanderhama in Pattan, Baramulla.
April 07
Indian troops kill in custody one Azad Ahmad Wagay at Poshibagh Bahak
in Islamabad. 3 persons including a woman are killed at Parigam in
Kolgam, Payar in Pulwama and Khore in Pattan area of Baramulla.
April 08
Troops kill 11 persons and injure 70 others in indiscriminate firing
at Uri in Baramulla. 5 youth are killed by troops at Sogam in Kupwara.
Troops destroy a house at Bazipora in Bandipora, 2 dead bodies are
recovered from the debris. 2 persons are killed and 5 injured when
troops damage a mosque by hurling a grenade inside it at
Chack-e-Arsalan Khan in Bandipora. Two persons are killed at Ajas in
Baramulla. One person each is killed at Poosh Bagh in Islamabad and
Zachaldara in Kupwara.
April 09
Two Kashmiri youth Khalid and Tassaduq are killed by troops in Nishat
and Natipora areas of Srinagar. A seventy-year-old man Jamal-u-Din of
Bangna Noorkha Uri dies on spot when he is hit by a speedy army
vehicle at Boniyar in Uri. A Kashmiri youth is shot dead by troops at
Banihal in Doda. Another person is killed in Gadoh area of Doda
district. The troops of 42RR molest several women during a siege and
search operation at Khosiora village of Tral in Pulwama.
April 10
Two persons are killed at Zevan in Bandipora and Marwan in Pulwama.
April 11
Three persons are killed by troops in Zargar Mohalla of Kreeri Pattan
in Baramullah district and one at Gool in Udhampur. One person is shot
dead at Aripanthan in Budgam and a dead body is recovered from Nawgam
in the outskirts of Srinagar.
April 12
A woman Shakeela, who had delivered a baby only two days back, dies of
cardiac arrest in her house when troops of 34 RR and SOG spread terror
during crackdown at Kandoora in Beerwah. One person each is killed at
Gool in Udhampur, Chumujroo in Beerwah and Aripathan in Budgam.
April 13
Indian troops shoot dead a mentally retarded person, Nazir Ahmad at
Shopian in Pulwama. Troops kill one person each at Kremshore in Budgam
and Satpore in Tangdhar area of Kupwara. A dead body is recovered from
Marthed Nalla in Islamabad while one person is killed at Mirjanpora in
Nawa Kadal, Srinagar.
April 14
Troops kill two Kashmiri youth at Sheen Dhara in Poonch and one Bashir
Ahmad Khan at Zainkote in Srinagar. One person each is killed by
troops at Saidpora in Karnah, Sunderbani and Pathwali in Poonch. A
dead body is recovered from Arthred in Islamabad. 2 persons are killed
and 30 injured in a bomb blast in Banihal town.
April 16
Two persons are killed at Dewal Dugga in Mahore and Dhanori Nullah in
Doda
April 17
The Indian troops kill a Kashmiri youth at Dardpora in Kupwara
district. A bus conductor injured in a mine blast last month in Lolab,
succumbs to his injuries. One person is killed at Fidapora in
Baramulla district.
April 18
Two persons each are shot dead by troops at Saripora in Kreeri
Baramulla and Sonigam in Kulgam and one at Pul in Doda. 3 persons
including a woman are killed at Kandwa Udhyanpur in Doda, Beerwah in
Budgam and Kangan in Srinagar.
April 19
Troops kill 3 persons at Khari Karmara in Poonch and one at Magam
village in Kokarnag. A dead body is recovered from Heewan Narvav in
Baramulla and a civilian is killed at Punzwa in Tral.
April 20
The freelance journalist and human rights activist, Ayesha Jeelani and
her driver are killed and four others injured in a blast at Chandigam
in Sogam area of Kupwara. Indian troops kill two persons at Dewar in
Lolab area of Kupwara district. The troops shoot dead one Mushtaq
Ahmad Wagay and injure his wife, daughter and niece at Shopian in
Pulwama district. A teacher of Darul Uloom Noor-ul-Islam, Tral,
Shoukat Ahmad Kar, is killed in custody and his chopped head and the
torso are recovered from Lurigam village of Tral, Pulwama. On the
first day of sham Lok Sabha polls nearly eighteen women are roughed up
by the troops in Chogal Maidan in Handwara tehsil of Kupwara district.
Troops snatch babies from the laps of their mothers and ordered them
to vote.
April 21
Three persons are killed by troops at Kalaban area of Mendhar in
Poonch. One person each is killed at Udyanpur in Doda and Thuroo in
Mahore.
April 22
Two persons are killed and two others injured in a bomb blast at
Khanyar in Srinagar. Abdul Aziz Lone of Reshigund Kupwara is missing
since April 10.
April 23
One person is killed by troops at Dooru in Islamabad. A 12-year-old
boy is killed in a bomb blast at Badgi in Doda. A dead body is
recovered from Jhuru in Doda. More than two hundred pro-liberation
movement leaders and activists are arrested in Srinagar and Budgam
district by Indian troops before the second round of Indian parliament
sham polls
April 25
Indian troops kill one person each at Kokarnag in Islamabad and
Handwara in Kupwara. A woman and a girl are killed at Bazipora in
Baramulla. 4 persons are killed and over 30 injured in a blast at
Khull in Kulgam.
April 26
Two persons, Amin Wani and Kalimullah Bhat are killed and a house
damaged by Indian troops heavy firing at Banihal, in Doda. One person
each is killed at Sonabrari in Kokernag and Mangwari in Handwara.
April 27
Troops kill a youth, Ayaz at Manyal Gali in Thannamandi area of
Rajouri. 2 dead bodies are recovered from Kawani in Pulwama and
Batgadi Thathri in Doda.
April 28
Indian troops kill a person, Javed Ahmad at Devashpora Magam in
Kupwara. 2 persons are killed and 61 others injured in a bomb blast at
Bagwa in Doda. One person is killed at Gooriwan, Bijbehara. 11 persons
are injured in a blast at Bonagam in Shopian. SOG and Indian armed
agents torture many shopkeepers and pedestrians in main Chowk Handwara
including school children and women.
April 29
Troops arrest a 71-year old man, Abdul Rahim at Rawalpore Beerwah in
Budgam. A schoolteacher is shot and injured at Churmujroo in Beerwah.
Eight persons are injured in a blast at Jamsalan in Mahore in
Udhampur.
April 30
Indian troops shoot dead 2 persons each at Dardpora village in
Kokernag and Kulangam in Kupwara. A 60-year old man is killed at
Bijoni in Ramban area o f Doda. Troops arrest a shopkeeper Javed Ahmad
at Bemina in Srinagar. More than 16 persons including a woman are
injured in blast in Jammu.
