To improve relations between the West and the Arab world, I propose that
the sophomore classes of the West (U.S., Canada, Western Europe,
possibly Japan) be exchanged for the sophomore classes of Arab nations.
In this way, Westerners would be exposed to and thus understand Arab
culture, and Arabs would be exposed to Western culture, including
democracy. This would spread the virus of democracy throughout the
Middle East, pulling the rug out from under Islamic fundamentalists.
