Baghdad blast kills U.S. soldier

BAGHDAD, Iraq --
A roadside bomb attack in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Saturday
evening killed a U.S. soldier from the 1st Armored Division and
wounded another, the U.S. Army said on Sunday.
Just hours before the attack, a senior U.S. official insisted that the
U.S. military has the upper hand in the escalating war in Iraq.
