Faith-Based Nonprofit Organization Embarks Upon $100M Community Revitalization Initiative

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill., March 21 /PRNewswire/ --
New First Community Development Corporation President and CEO
Bishop Robert R. Sanders has embraced the Eastside and Hill
sections of Chicago Heights' African-American and Hispanic
communities to undertake a major $100M community revitalization project.
"My vision is to build a 'sustainable' community through
programs and services, residential, retail and
commercial development and industrial revitalization
initiatives," says Bishop Sanders.
Phase I of the project will focus on building a
state-of-the-art All Purpose Youth Multiplex Center
and a Social Services Center. The Social Services Center
will provide residents in both communities with enhanced
benefits and assistance, including crisis, health, jobs
and training, special needs, and community-based services.
Rosa Mason, Executive Director, stated,
"A holistic approach to the residents of the community
is critical. How the programs and services are delivered
is key."
Other facets of the project include: a Child Care Center;
Residential, Retail and Commercial Development;
Light Manufacturing Facilities; a Technology Center;
and a new-concept Senior Housing "Town Centre" for
independent and assisted living.
