TERRORISM QUESTIONS FOR ISLAMIC ORGANIZATION
First, we recognize that "terrorism" is a broad concept which means
different things to different people. Therefore, we focus our questions
on one part of terrorism, which is, deadly attacks on innocent
civilians.
These questions will provide an opportunity for Your Organization to
say clearly and without reservation, that it strongly denounces and
rejects any and all deadly attacks against innocent civilians, no
matter who they are, where they are, or whom they might be helping;
further, that Your Organization declares that the Qur'an clearly
prohibits any and all such deadly attacks on innocent civilians; and
further, that Your Organization calls on all Muslims everywhere to
denounce and reject such attacks and to resist, with force if needed,
any persons who may be planning deadly attacks on innocent civilians,
for any reason whatsoever.
The Questions
Here, then are our suggested questions for the Press to ask in any
press conference held by Your Organization.
1. "Do you now clearly state, without any reservations whatsoever, that
Your Organization denounces and rejects any and all deadly attacks
against innocent civilians, no matter who they are, where they are, or
whom they might be helping?"
If the answer is a clear "Yes," then go to Question 2.
If the answer is not a clear "Yes," then ask "Why not?"
And if the answers to "Why not?" are evasive or equivocal, then
ask, "Then how can you possibly be pretending to oppose terrorism,
when you will not clearly denounce all deadly attacks on innocent
civilians?"
2. "Does Your Organization now declare that the Qur'an clearly
prohibits any and all such deadly attacks on innocent civilians?"
If the answer is a clear "Yes,: then go to Question 3.
If the answer is not a clear "Yes," then ask, "Why not?"
If the answers to "Why not?" are evasive or equivocal, then
ask, "So then is it true that the Qur'an does sometimes authorize
Muslims to attack unarmed civilians? If so, how can Islam be
considered a religion of peace? And why shouldn't severe
restrictions be placed on all Muslims, in the interest of public
safety?"
NOTE: Do not accept any vague answers along the lines of "Islam
says this . . . " or "Islam is that . . ." Insist that they declare
what the Qur'an says, as they read it. What Islam says or is, is a
matter of opinion, not fixed. What the Qur'an says is law to a
Muslim.
3. "Does Your Organization now call on all Muslims everywhere to
denounce and reject such attacks and to resist, with force if needed,
any persons who may be planning deadly attacks on unarmed civilians,
for any reason whatsoever? And will you issue this call in both English
and Arabic language so that all the Muslim world will know about it,
not just the western Muslims? "
If the answer is a clear "Yes," then smile and say, "Thank you very
much."
If the answer is not a clear "yes," then ask, "Why not?
If the answers to "Why not?" are evasive or equivocal, then
ask, "So then is it true that you are pretending to oppose
terrorism
here in the United States, speaking English, but are unwilling
to speak out in Arabic and call for actual resistance to
terrorists?"
Thank you very much. Many blessings to you. May the One God, Who sees
all, and knows all, guide your feet onto the correct paths always.
