Indian govt not willing to resume talks: Jethmalani
NEW DELHI: India is not serious in normalising ties with Pakistan
while there is need for immediate resumption of dialogue between the
two countries. Former Union law minister and Chairman Kashmir
Committee Ram Jethmalani said this while speaking at a function here
on Sunday.
He informed that he was in touch with the people of Pakistan and India
and both wanted peace. "But I don't think the Indian government is
really serious about seizing the opportunity. There has never been a
more auspicious time to settle this dispute," he told the newsmen.
Responding to a question about curbing infiltration and dismantling
its network by Pakistan, Jethmalani said he believed Islamabad has
partly done so. "We must meet them and tell them that some
infiltration is persisting. Let us sit down and decide how to stop
it," he was quoted as saying.
Jethmalani further said, "We can't have dialogue subject to a veto by
a few (militants) who are not even under the control of Pakistan." He
added: "The Kashmir committee is engaged in secret and valid work and
we are sure we are doing an excellent work."
