Object: Thank you, Howard Dean!
America owes a debt of gratitude to Howard Dean for helping steer the
Democratic Party back to the front of governing this country with
principles and ethics.

I have to agree he was a great help and has a great vision and strategy
for America and the Democrats. I like to think we all pulled together
too though, no one of us did it alone, that is why we won, team work!

Did you hear that James Carville suggested that Howard Dean lose
his chairmanship and that he be replaced by Harold Ford Jr.? WTF??
What's wrong with this guy? Why would he wanna replace a winner
like Dean with a loser like Ford?
I think Carville's right-wing ankle-biter wife is corrupting him. Or
there's
an inside-the-beltway contingent of Democrats who resent Dean and
he speaks for them. I'd pick Dean over anyone in the DLC.

Not to mention the amount of mopney Dean raised and the voter list he
overhoauled. These two accomplishments helped tremendously in our
victory.

Carvilles wife may be picked to run the RNC one day, that could have
somthing to do with it. I think Dean is right on the money, he was
right about the South East for example in wanting more Southerners to
vote Democrat, the "guys with rebel flags on their pickups" he referred
to. America needs more Dixiecrats, the South is way behind in alot of
areas, and we are way behind in reaching out to them. I believe the
South can maintain it's great traditions while embracing more
progressive ideology same time. The more we alienate the South the more
they will vote Republican, this needs to change, we should not be
ignoring them. Southerners are very loyal people and they would vote
more Democrat if they felt Democrats addressed their needs. Dean is
right about it and there were a few Democrats that said he was nuts for
it. Dean has the right ideas and should remian chairman and we won with
him as chairman, don't fix what's not broken.

Well, I think that's why Carville is hyping Ford. But Ford is
right-wing Dem to the point of not resembling a Democrat at all.
Trying to win the south by talking about Jesus all the time, IMO, is a
mistake. It looks phony and we can't out-Jesus southern Republicans.
The yankee notion of separating politics from religion is correct and
we need to convince southerners of this. Politicians set policy and
that policy is better for working, middle class people than GOP policy.
Dean was right in what he said about pickup trucks and confederate
flags and, as usual, the media and his political adversaries flew into
a hissy-fit over it. He got lectured by a self-righteous John Edwards.
It was all really a stupid nontroversy.

Which can be an issue we will see more if we start inputting leaders
with that ideology in our leadership roles. I do see Carville's point
to howevere, though I think it would be bad to have someone with that
platform running the whole DNC. We shgould never pander to or sell out
what our core beliefs and those include freedom of religion, in
contrast to catering to just one to please a special interest.

I totally agree, we cannot 'out Jesus' southern Republicans, exactly.
What Christians want is respect for their religious practices and
beliefs. As long as the Christian Church is not trying to inject
religion into our laws, public schools and courts etc I have no problem
with Christians. Keeping seperation of God and State is the only way,
there are far too many diverse opinions and beliefs in this great
melting pot we call America and those need to be respected as well by
keeping our law neutral and unbiased always. Americans should always be
treated equally and fairly, it what we are all about at our core, as a
nation. I really think we can reach the south by addressing all of the
other glaring needs they have, jobs, education, health care, all other
areas they are lacking and same time leave their religion alone, they
are entitled to believe what they want in regards to that.

Dean sees it, they don't, like I said vision. It is a simple but clear
message and he is right on the money with that. Democrats need to be
applauding it.

Democrats won, not because of anything Howard Dean (the screamer) did or
did not do. The credit really goes the the man who kept on saying, "Stay
the course." ................BND

I can't say I totally disagree with this it that is not entirely true.
Voter turnout, raising needed campaign money and taking a hardline
stand against the corruption of the man and his followers who said
'stay the course' had plenty to do with turning the vote blue as well,
and Dean has had alot to do with that all the way back to 2001 up until
present day in fact.
