All day, television showed Steinberg's arrival on Riverside Drive.

So many people were watching with anger that precedes a person
settling into celebrity.

The anger was misdirected.

Steinberg killed one person, 17 years ago.

And we have a president who has people getting killed almost every
day, young people who went into a war we should never have started and
there are, what? almost 1,000 dead, and the blood is on George Bush's
hands.

Bush is the worst president the country has had.

He has the most limited mind of anybody we've had.

Compare his stuttering to Bill Clinton's 953-page book.

It is a book by a man with an endless curiosity, with no subject out
of his reach.

Bush has the imagination of a stuffed chair.

If you put all the things in which he has an interest into a book, it
would be as thin as a slice of white bread.

In August of 2001, he was on the longest vacation of any recent
president.

He said he liked to look at cows on his ranch.

In Washington, George Tenet of the CIA had memos and calls from agents
who brought up the chances of aircraft hijackings.

He did not tell this to Bush because, after all, the man was on
vacation.

Some days later, the planes hit the World Trade Center.

It seems that this didn't matter, because Bush was going to get this
country into a war with Iraq, and he saw nothing the matter with it.

This bin Laden could wait.

He had to get at Saddam Hussein because "he tried to get dad killed,
you know."

That is a good reason for starting a war.

Dear Old Dad.

Some 20-year-old gets killed over that.

Bush was absolutely marvelous when he made a famous State of the Union
speech that said Iraq was trying to buy enriched uranium, or
yellowcake, from the country of Niger.

Soon, they would nuke New York.

The report was based on a forgery.

The weapons of mass destruction now became the lies of George Bush and
everybody around him.

This Condoleezza Rice is the best.

She appears to lie through her teeth.

Which is the only way to describe people who cause death with their
lies.

For this is no time to be kind or, the absolute worst, even-handed in
the face of people who thrilled at the first day's invasion notices
and then never wanted to look or hear about the casualty lists that
followed.

So Steinberg excited news desks around here, but it was the worst kind
of distraction.

Of course he is almost the worst.

The absolute worst is the man who gets so many young Americans killed,
and he is George Bush.
