Honestly, I'm so inot music I couldn't pick ten. I'm horrible when people
play the "deserted island" album list game.
I like everything from Cajun to the Animal Collective.
Love experimental, but am a sucker for intelligent pop music.
A "right now" list might include stuff by The New Pornographers, Arcade
Fire, The Black Kids, Band of Horses, Current 93, Justice, Data Rock,
Radiohead, (always Radiohead. Karma Police would be on an all time top ten
if I ever could whittle one down. note: there is a youtube vid of them doing
an in studio live cover of The Smiths "Headmaster Ritual" that is amazing)
Panda Bear, Martin Denny and too many others to list.
be well.

Could I throw in a few titles and bands? As a southerner I have to
suggest:
1. "Statesboro Blues", The Allman Brothers
2. "Doraville", The Atlanta Rhythm Section
3. "Melissa", The Allman Brothers
4. "Aint Wastin Time No More", The Allman Brothers
And of course non-southerner stuff:
5. "Will the Wolf Survive", Los Lobos (the greatest band ever in my
estimation)
6. "Kiko and the Lavender Moon", Los Lobos
7. "One Time, One Night", Los Lobos
And other stuff:
8. "Orange County Lumber Truck", Frank Zappa
9. "Sympathy for the Devil", Rolling Stones
10. Any song, any time by BB King

Anything by the Allman Brothers will do nicely.

Los Lobos is very good but the best? Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Stones,
Queen.

And other stuff:
8. "Orange County Lumber Truck", Frank Zappa
9. "Sympathy for the Devil", Rolling Stones
10. Any song, any time by BB King

No complaints here.

Not that this should really matter to you, but I felt the same when it (Aja)
came out.
I loved the "precision" of the arrangements and the musical performances.
Then I heard "Never Mind the Bollocks"........and realised things had to
change.
