dealing with if it ever gets carried out?

The older among us still remember the concept of MAD; "Mutually
Assured Destruction" that existed during the cold war between the
U.S. and the USSR. Both countries had nuclear ICBM bases outside
their major population areas, as well as ICBM's in submarines
that were always at sea, to assure that if the ultimate attack
ever took place on either country, there would be enough
surviving nuclear firepower to assure the complete and utter
destruction of the attacker.

Imagine if these terrorists actually managed to carry an attack
like that out on U.S. soil. Say they were able to nuke a dozen
U.S. cities simultaneously, including Washington DC when Congress
was in session and the President was in the White House, and New
York City, which they only scratched the surface of on 9/11. LA,
Chicago, San Francisco, Miami, Atlanta, Boston, Seatle, Phoenix.
Say they were able to kill millions, destroy the economy of the
U.S. with such a strike, and seriously destabilize the government
of this country. Do they really think they'd be playing such
games with a bunch of pacifist choir boys if they did that?

No, I think it would be extreme hardball time then. The U.S.
would go Nietzschean. They will have stared into the abyss, and
the abyss would stare back. Very few Americans would be satisfied
with having our special forces off chasing Osama around the
mountains of Afghanistan, but having to stop at the Pakistan
border where he was really hiding and couldn't be touched because
of political considerations, like inflaming the radical elements
in that country.

No, it would be doomsday time for Islam. Surviving Americans
would be so grief stricken and enraged that they would scream for
bloody retaliation.

We know that throughout the islamic world, large percentages of
muslims think of Al Qaeda as their heroes and think that this
terrorism is warranted against the "great Satan" of the west.
Many muslims tacitly support Al Qaeda, if not openly, in this
islamist 3rd Jihad quest to rule the world by force of terror.

Countries like our "friend" Saudi Arabia are hardly innocent, as
they allow radical madrasas to preach venemous hatred of Jews and
the United States.

I'm thinking that most muslims have no idea what they could be
dealing with if they tacitly allowed these nut cases to nuke a
bunch of U.S. cities and cause that kind of destruction, to the
point of destroying our economy and destabilizing our government.

I know how I would feel if I survived such an event, and how most
other Americans would feel and react. It would make 9/11 look
like a Sunday school picnic and I don't think my surviving fellow
Americans would remain capable of such a measured response as
we've shown so far.

I think it's quite predictable that countries known to support
these terrorists, and those just plain hostile to the U.S.,
would be attacked with our own nuclear arsenal, en masse. Syria,
Iran, Pakistan, yes even Saudi Arabia where they allow these
madrasas to spew infinite hatred against Jews and the United
States.

The major population areas of such countries could become
radioactive glass, for hundreds of thousands of years to come.

And then the doomsday trump card that they should all fear the
most. What if the United States, in our grief and rage over such
attrocious heinous acts, was to dirty nuke Mecca. What if a 100
mile radius around Mecca was to be dirty nuked so badly that
anyone who tried to travel there, for the next 300,000 years,
would surely die of radiation poisoning?

Mecca is the central focal point of islam. What would be left
after that? I imagine it could spell the end of Islam as a
religion, especially after the United States got done retaliating
with nuclear weapons all over the mideast. I think this is
something that muslims all over the world need to consider in the
gravest of terms.

It's really time for the muslims who have the slightest shred of
good sense, to look to their self interest and reign in these
radicals, because the distinct possibility exists that if the
terrorists go too far and cross the "Line That Should Never Be
Crossed", Islam could be no more.
