President declines NAACP invite to speak

PHILADELPHIA -- President Bush declined an invitation to speak at the
NAACP's annual convention, the group said.
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People expects more
than 8,000 people to attend the convention opening Saturday.
Democratic challenger John Kerry accepted an invitation to speak next
Thursday on the final day of the convention, the NAACP said.
Bush spoke at the 2000 NAACP convention in Baltimore when he was a
candidate. But he has declined invitations to speak in each year of his
presidency, the first president since Herbert Hoover not to attend an NAACP
convention, John White, a spokesman for the group, said Wednesday.
The NAACP received a letter from the White House three weeks ago declining
the invitation because of scheduling conflicts and thanking the it for
understanding. It was signed by presidential scheduler Melissa Bennett.
White House spokesman Jim Morrell said Wednesday that the president has
spoken about "equal opportunity and equal rights for all Americans" in many
public places.

--
Most US workers saw their earnings fall or stagnate last year, with those at
the bottom of the income scale hit hardest.
The trend, coming alongside a slack job market, explains why many Americans
feel left out of the economic recovery - and why President Bush faces a
tough sell with his campaign-trail message that there is "good strong
growth." Democratic rivals point to "two Americas," one for the rich, one
for the poor.

Remember when Ross Perot went? He said "you people," and there was an
uproar.
The NAACP is a useless group now. They need to disband.

Spoken like a true Republican. Those darkies don't need no organizations to
make them uppity! We screwed them good enough in Florida in 2000 to keep
down for decades!

A pattern of deception
A hard truth appears to have escaped the notice of the public and received
scant attention from the media: Bush is the first president in American
history to use deceptive propaganda as his main means of communications in
selling his policies. His pattern of deception continues unabated and in
direct conflict with the notion of the public's informed consent that is
central to American democracy.

I think you need a good dose of Bill Cosby.
