The Funniest Float of the Rose Bowl Parade (the China float) |
The award for the funniest float in the Rose Bowl Parade must go to
the Chinese. The irony of the float was absolutely astounding.
-First, the float was surrounded by children, flown in from
China...these would be children that were lucky enough to not be
aborted in state-mandated infanticide or forced to work in some low-
pay, low safety, and low benefit sweatshop to make faulty products.
-Then, they chose to have the Olympic symbol as their theme, since the
Olympics are about to be there...the motto being "One World, One
Dream." That is...unless your dream differs from the government's
dream for you or your world happens to be capitalistic or religious.
-There is also the fact that the float is in a natural product parade
that emphasizes nature, even though China produces more air pollution
than the United States and rejects UN air control resolutions.
-Finally, it cannot be overlooked that this is a float in an American
parade, ADVERTISING their product (the Olympics) in order to get sale
from the tourist traffict that will come....sounds very capitalistic
to me.

Can you present us with a brief discussion of analytic dualities in
mathematics, Kenneth, we're just wondering what the evangelical view is.
