The Israel Lobby: Does it Have Too Much Influence on US Foreign Policy? |
This whole discussion is beyond comical in its absurdity. Nonetheless, it
seems that people need to hear statements of the obvious before they will
accept the facts. This is a debate over the John Mearsheimer and Stephen

Note that we are told that it was wrong to believe that the supporters of
Israel wanted the US to attack Iraq, because they would have much preferred
that it had been Iran. We are told the paper should have focused
exclusively on AIPAC even though there are numerous organizations which
explicitly support the interests of Israel within the US. For example:

named above never looked at J. Hagee's "church" to find just how deeply the
Jews have ingrained themselves in America's evangelical/charismatic,

There is a very scary undercurrent to that. I call it Synthetic Har
Megiddon. Some Bible-thumbers are genuine frauds who view Christianity as
a means of controlling the masses. They actually view themselves as
anti-Christs playing God. The look at the Book of Revelation as their
playbook and see it as their task to fulfill the prophecies in the role of
servants of Satan. They were pushing for this during the Israeli invasion
of Lebanese. The hope was that Iran and/or Syria would take the bait and
initiation a Kissingeresq "depopulation" operation.

Ain't that a kick in the balls. First they whine for centuries about
how "their people" were forcibly converted to Christianity and/or Islam,
then they go to those people and kick them off their land. I have no
reason to believe the people claiming to be Jews today are predominately
descendent from people who left the Levant 2000 years ago. Nor do I have
any reason to believe the legends in the Old Testament are depictions of
actual historical events involving the ancestors of modern Jews.
Archaeology and history do not support the historical validity of the
Bible.
It appear to me to be a work of reverse prophecy. That is to say, it was
written on the basis of existing history, after the fact, in an effort to
give the authors an impressive, though false, pedigree. There are probably
some elements of truth in the legends, and they are likely cobbled together
from many divergent traditions in currency around the time of Caesar.

Some people claim that the Jews in Europe predominately originated in
Babylon, not in Israel. The DNA evidence indicates that the maternal
lineages are almost exclusively derived from the "host nations", while the
male ancestry points to distinct contributions, in addition to a
considerable contribution from the "host nations", the "Israelite" lower
cast Jews appear to have originated in places such as Senigal and the Sinai
Peninsula. The Levite cast appears to have a considerable contribution
from a Central Asian Iranian stock and shares with the Cohanim priestly
cast a contribution form a population which extends from Italy, through
Turkey, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and the Caucasus, but does _NOT_ include
Palestine.
I need to qualify all of this with the observation that the data samples are
extremely small.
