"President Bush defended the program yesterday, saying it was saving lives,
hotly insisting that he was working within the Constitution and the law, and
denouncing The Times for disclosing the program's existence. We don't know
if he was right on the first count; this White House has cried wolf so many
times on the urgency of national security threats that it has lost all
credibility. But we have learned the hard way that Mr. Bush's team cannot be
trusted to find the boundaries of the law, much less respect them.
Mr. Bush said he would not retract his secret directive or halt the illegal
spying, so Congress should find a way to force him to do it. "

Yes, by trying and executing him for treason against America.

Such a deal.
Bush can be impeached, ousted by an Amendment such as Hohensee-Feingold,
or the country can simply continue to tend more and more to follow my lead
rather than Dubya's, as Dubya himself does on occaision such as with 'his'
tax simplification proposal, which idea he got from me. Of course, no-one
trusts a Bush with a tax system overhaul.

Senator Robert Byrd gave the best presentation of why the provisions that
extend unconstitutional spying on Americans should be voted down.
I do not yet have a copy of his speech, but I will post it when I get it.
Truly a magnificent speech, one of his best and one of the best on the
Senate floor in many a year. Amid the Bush sychophants who cannot think on
their own, he and many Democrats stand out as beacons in a dismal
Washington. He is stronger than ever and puts many a younger Senator to
shame. God Bless him and I wish him and his family well. We need more like
him. He answers Bush very well. I wish they could appear together in
debate in front of the public. Byrd would cut him down to size.

Senator Robert Byrd gave the best presentation of why the provisions that
extend unconstitutional spying on Americans should be voted down.

If there is one thing that is clear after 5 years of Bush in power, it
is that he simply has no respect, no respect for anything, no respect for
anyone. No respect for tradition, no respect for the Constitution, no
respect for the value of a human life, American or otherwise.
He has to be slapped down, repeatedly and publically, over and over
again, time after time, like a little boy with matches who likes to start
fires, before he will finally get to the stage where he stops picking up the
FUCKING matches.

I think your cause and effect are backward. I think there is a bigger
picture here. How perfect that 9-11 happened in time to keep the populous
shaking in their boots and looking toward the President to "protect" them.
We send $300,000,000,000 to another country while we don't have enough
border guards for our own borders. Is this good management? Is this
protecting the US from terror? I think nothing else has happened because
there is a bigger force controlling world events, and the US population is
right where they want them. Am I saying our government had something to do
with 9-11? I believe yes, I don't know on what level, but there is too much
bizarre stuff to ignore the possibility. The most telling to me was when
they brought down Building 7 and it was a controlled demolition, and they
even used demolition terms to describe it. When would they have had the time
to set the charges?

Actually, much has happened since 9/11/2001. Worldwide terrorist
attacks and related deaths have risen dramatically since 9/11/2001.

He took his off more than 50yrs ago, but Georgie and his right wing
militiarist bullies have their swastikas and they are with us today and in
power. If you cross them, they will come.
Here is a little quote of a short message attributed to Pastor Martin
Niemoller:
"First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out because I was
not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not
speak out because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews,
and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me, and
there was no one left to speak for me."

Reason to lie? How about ... dumbya and dickie on the LIARS' CIRCUIT
this week?
These compulsive, pathological liars are feverishly trying to lie their
way out of their original lies about WMD, Hussein-Twin Towers bombing
connection, Patriot Act civil liberties protection, secret CIA prisons
abroad, and the latest secret - illegal authorization of spying in the
U.S.
You can tell when bushie's lying because his beady eyes get more
flittery, he stammers more, he becomes physically more shifty behind
the mike, and his "uhs" dominate his invitation-only "news
conferences." He definitely needs more pep talks from his female
Rasputin, Karen Hughes.
*****, formerly "Greet Me As A Liberator," formerly "Go ***** Yourself,"
now "We've Turned the Corner" Cheney, speaking as usual from the left
side of his mouth, is more adept in keeping a steady gaze and
controlled tone of voice. But like Josef Goebbels, Dickie harps on a
few repetitive BIG LIES, in the hope that sooner or later American
fundamentalists and red-staters - his main, dup'd, hypocritical
supporters, will accept
his baldfaced prevaricative statements.
And did you catch Condi Rice's interviews, post-dumbya's speech this
weekend? She absolutely seemed to be trembling as, lips and chin
quavering, she spewed lies in support of her president's lies.
