The Problem With America is Americans Themselves (70% are total morons) |
I am a proud American but certainly not proud of most Americans. Here
in California we had a golden opportunity yesterday to make a change
for the better. The voters said "NO" to Arnold's propositions. Most
people in this state and frankly in this country (I've lived in many
states) are complete morons. They are easily influenced by idiotic 30
second TV commercials which are nothing more than lies or gross
distortions of the truth. I can't tell you how many people in my own
family and people I work with said stupid things like, "I'm voting NO
on Arnold's propositions because 'they hurt our children' or 'they
hurt our schools' ". I'd press them to explain themselves and they
wouldn't have much to say except, "well, if these propostions pass, our
schools will get less money and that will be bad". Huh??? What the
hell are they talking about??? I'm thinking they get their politics
from a bumper sticker.
So, the problem with America is Americans themselves. 70% are total
morons and can be led like sheep. That will be the REAL cause of
Americas downfall... Americans themselves and their stupidity.

No to Hollywood politics, no to big-business elites.

I'd have to agree that 70% of Americans are morons but the leftover 30% are
brain-dead idiots that think forcing their morals and idiotologies upon
others is what being a human is all about -lol ***** 'em if they can't handle

California is not representative of America. California is
where the other states send their nuts, fruits and other
assorted freaks. Unfortunately, Californians send some of
their worst freaks to Washington, DC to punish the rest of
the nation. Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi, Dianne Feinstein,
Barbara Lee, Tom Lantos, Fortney Pete Stark, Henry A.
Waxman, Maxine Waters, ad nauseam.

Apparently the Pug model is Alabama. California has not only one of the
most vibrant economies in the world, it has been on the cutting edge of
techonological development for a very long time -- everything: nuclear
research, aerospace, computers and electronics, software development,
medicine, materials, manufacturing, even agriculture has benefited
enormously from work done in California. It possesses at least two of
the greatest technological universities in the world, CalTech and
Stanford, and it even houses the most prestigious conservative "think
(if that's what they do) tank," the Hoover Institution. If it were a
country, it would be among the greatest on earth.
Pugs are afraid of places where very competent people accomplish
remarkable things. They're much more comfortable in backwater areas
populated by ignorant right-wing religious bible thumpers who will buy
their lies and distortions.

California (Los Angeles specifically) is also the cultural center of
the U.S. - not in terms of "high" culture but in terms of pop culture,
and pop culture IS American culture (for better or worse.... defintely
worse in my opinion). What comes out of L.A. in terms of
television/film/music influences the rest of the country to a degree
which is immeasurable. Frankly, the #1 reason why 70% of Americans are
morons is largely due to the L.A. media influence over the past 50
years. Your average American is far more influenced (& their
political/social opinions most strongly shaped) by what they have
collectively seen on TV/movies during their lifetime than by reading
the news.
I want to emphasize the term "average American". Fortunately there are
still plenty of smart Americans who do read, analyze, and deduce
something fairly close to the truth, but with each generation such
smart Americans are becoming more rare (which is why this country is
doomed unless we get our act together).

I think you hit a nerve regarding the entertainment industry.
Think about the number of people who can tell you the life story of every
actor or rock star compared to the number of people who can tell you what
the three branches of our government are. You almost have to brow beat
people into showing up at a town hall meeting for an opportunity to meet
with their congressman about things which have a very real effect on the
quality of their lives, and if more than a hundred show up it is a miracle.
But it only takes one ad to sell thousands of tickets when a rock star comes
to town.
Then, there is the quality of the material that is being produced by the
entertainment industry. The political slant given to 99% of it is
unmistakable to those few who showed up at the town hall meeting. What is
disturbing is the vast ocean of people who didn't show up for the town hall
meeting and who are utterly unaware of how they are being politically
manipulated through entertainment media. It gets down right scary to
observe what Americans consume that passes for entertrainment. In a way, I
think their choice of entertainment has parallelled their choices in
politics - choosing the lesser of two evils.
The entertainment industry is also the primary vehicle delivering massive
consumerism to Big Business. Our government has become frighteningly
entertwined with Big Business. Big Busines dictates policy, to the extent
that it threatens to change the form of our government. The entertainment
industry is in the unique position of directing where people will spend
their money, and influencing them to jump off of any cliff the Corporate
Fascist Government wants to drive them over. The worst thing about the
so-called entertainment industry - which is really not much more than a
megaphone for the Corporate Fascist Government - is the influence they have
world-wide.
One thing you left out is sports. Americans have an unhealthy slavery to
sports. It is another opiate of the masses, and also controlled by Big
Business. If you really want to start a civil war in this country, just
cancel Super Bowl Day.
And then there are the entertainers themselves. Jesus tits. I don't think
there has ever been a creature more smitten with themselves than the
creatures that populate Hollyweird. If we aren't being tormented with their
"art", then we are being subjected to every intimate detail of their sordid
little lives.
I want to emphasize the term "average American". Fortunately there are
still plenty of smart Americans who do read, analyze, and deduce
something fairly close to the truth, but with each generation such

People ***** and moan about separation of church and state.
What they should be pissing and moaning about is the separation of Big
Business and state.
A wedge must be driven between Big Business and our government, or we are
all doomed.

Yup:
"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of
unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the
militaryindustrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of
misplaced power exists and will persist.
We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties

huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful
methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together. "

There are two large cultural cities in America, Los Angeles and New
York. Both produce cultural artifacts that run the gamut from the
absurd and utterly tacky to the sublime. Aside from those two cities,
there are plenty of places that have made their own contributions to
the American cultural environment, Chicago, the late New Orleans,
Atlanta, Austin, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and even
Orlando, to name a few.
What comes out of L.A. in terms of

USA??? The rest of the world, with possible exceptions of Iran and N.
Korea.
Frankly, the #1 reason why 70% of Americans are

years. Your average American is far more influenced (& their

the news.
It's not all bad. And what was there before the age of electricity?
Some cities, like New York, had literally hundreds of newspapers that
were nothing but sensationalist rags. A few, like the old New York
Herald-Tribune, stood out, but the bulk were utter crap. For
entertainment there were hundreds of theatres that produced some of the
worst-acted, most god-awful tripe ever devised. The common denominator
has never been very high.
I want to emphasize the term "average American". Fortunately there are

My father was quite old when I was born, and now I'm not very young.
His memory reached back to 19th century and I can well remember
discussing these kinds of things with him. His reaction? "When I
started work, at age 14, as a laborer I made 17 cents an hour. One
person could barely live on that. At the turn of the century people
lived to work, 14, 16 hours per day, earned menial wages, didn't go to
school, and were abysmally ignorant. They knew and understood local
politics because they lived close, in cities and it affected them
personally. Other than that they barely knew where the rest of the
world was."
I think average Americans aren't so much stupid as confused and
ignorant. Our public education system is tepid. It produces people who
can read and do arithmatic, but it doen't create any enthusiasm for
learning, even at a limited level. At the same time, a huge proportion
of our population goes on to colleges and universities, some of which
are quite excellent, most of which are pretty good by world standards.
We fail on some fronts, though. We emphasize "practical" education in
things like accounting or nursing, but this leaves most college
graduates competent in a field that is neither at a high cultural level
nor is it science (or engineering), so we produce millions of college
graduates who can do certain things but who have no basis in culture
and are unaquainted with science. These are folks whose ignorance is so
profound, they don't even know they're ignorant.

collectively seen on TV/movies during their lifetime than by reading
the news.
I want to emphasize the term "average American". Fortunately there are
still plenty of smart Americans who do read, analyze, and deduce
something fairly close to the truth, but with each generation such
smart Americans are becoming more rare (which is why this country is
doomed unless we get our act together).
Jesu Christ! We got bush the boob for president 2 times already. The
country is already doomed.

Repubs who aren't happy with Bush are either:
1) unhappy with anything but perfection, which no admin has;
or
2) devolved by so much idiocy streaming from the MSM.
No rational person can take such mortal umbrage at Bush's record as
the anti-[your cause here] exhibits. He's actually doing quite well,
considering the mess he is trying to clean up started with Carter and
wasn't improved by Reagan, Bush, or Clinton.
The decay in U. S. intel capability was instigated almost two
generations ago. Had Bush and his advisors been given the "god view"
that would have enabled them to see the effects of this decay, he
still would not have had the political clout to do the things he is
doing, had 9/11 not happened.
In short, Bush is a man in peculiar circumstances and is doing quite
well. Those who hate anything to the political right of Fidel Castro
are outside rational discussion - that means Bush has majority
support, as we saw in 2000, 2002, and 2004. 2005 is meaningless.
Nothing happened. It was an "off year".
2006 will see the Dems frustrated still more - in fact they may begin
breaking laws more boldly than they do now. If and when some of them
finally end up in prison for whatever doltish behaviour they dream up,
their fellow lefties will declare the U. S. a "police state"(TM), on
cue. These twits don't even know what a police state is.

No *****. Yet, still, California's greatest export -- the one with the
greatest and most long-lasting impact -- is the "vast cultural

a close second. Sure, you have to place the blame for the third largest

Wake up, will you? The post WWII accomplishments of the Democratic
party are enormous. Aside from civil rights, which was a tremendous
accomplishment, the Democrats work public programs that helped all
Americans has been remarkable. How do you think that clean water and
air standards were established? Who do you think started and
institutionalized the student loan program? What party has worked to
improve the enviornment, the protection of native species, national
public health, basic disease research, occupational safety, highway and
auto safety, the national immunization program, and other programs that
advance public safety and health, protect and preserve natural
resources, and generally benefit mankind? It sure as hell wasn't the
Pugs, who put obstacles in the path of all those programs and continue
to try to tear them down.
By the way, multiple generation welfare is a myth. There is no
empirical evidence to support it, only nasty anecdotes told by Pugs,
who are compulsive liars. If anything had any effect on welfare rolls,
it was lower unemployment levels and lower inflation.
Don't eat fruit, drink wine, or wear cotton do you?

In your opinion. The total product of Hollywood is hardly worth a
bucket of ***** in terms of the total economy of the United States, or
even that of California. People have always liked sensational
mellodrama. In 18th and 19th centuries, they went to the theater if
they lived in the city and the theatre came to them in the countryside.
Besides, Hollywood productions aren't all bad. Some, in fact, are
pretty good. What is your beef, anyway? The common denominator of
public taste is a low level of tackiness. Whine and cry as you may,
that's the human condition.
Sure, you have to place the blame for the third largest
element of the vast cultural wasteland at the feet of Madison Avenue in
New York City.
??? Advertizing agencies? They're just people who sell things. Again,
if public taste is pretty low, there's nothing anyone can do about it.
Human beings generally don't stive to high cultural achievement.

You yourself lie.
I know _entire city blocks_ of people whose parents were on welfare, who
grew up on welfare, and whose children and whose childrens' mothers were
on welfare. I know these people, and their families, _personally_.
Good for you. I know a few blacks who vote republican, including the
former persident of the NAACP for Cobb County GA. So what? A few years
ago, one of the think tanks set out to prove that welfare created
welfare -- the parents begetting children who wind up on welfare
themselves story. What they found was that, while people born to
welfare have a slightly higher probability of going on welfare
themselves, it's not all that common. The vast majority of folks whose
parents (usually just the mother) were on welfare, grow up to find
employment and never collect.
If anything had any effect on welfare rolls,
it was lower unemployment levels and lower inflation.
How about the change in the laws enacting a five-year lifetime limit?
Lower unemployment was the dominant factor. Most people on welfare
would rather work.
You need to abandon your adherance to ideology, of the left or of the
right, of party Democrat or party Republican. It only makes you crazy.
Try acquainting yourself with actual facts.

Apparently the Pug model is Alabama. California has not only one of the
most vibrant economies in the world, it has been on the cutting edge of
techonological development for a very long time -- everything: nuclear
research, aerospace, computers and electronics, software development,
medicine, materials, manufacturing, even agriculture has benefited
enormously from work done in California. It possesses at least two of
the greatest technological universities in the world, CalTech and
Stanford, and it even houses the most prestigious conservative "think
(if that's what they do) tank," the Hoover Institution. If it were a
country, it would be among the greatest on earth.
Pugs are afraid of places where very competent people accomplish
remarkable things. They're much more comfortable in backwater areas
populated by ignorant right-wing religious bible thumpers who will buy
their lies and distortions.
