Object: Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN
"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who
comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates
himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with
everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any
such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is
predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American,
and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance
here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else
also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag,
the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and
that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole
loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
- Theodore Roosevelt 1907

No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. – Thomas
Jefferson, part of proposed Virginia Constitution 1776.
50% of U.S. households own a gun but few people ever practice
with them. Your gun is not a lucky rabbit's foot that will bestow
protection on you, just by keeping it around. If you own one, you
have a moral obligation to yourself to learn safety, get training
and learn how to use it, then stay in practice so you don't
forget and get rusty. Take as much training as you can afford and
practice regularly. After all, you are the militia.

The illegals do not wish to become 'murricans. The country is too
expensive, too cold, and the people are too surly.
Even if they wished to become 'murricans, 'murrican racism would never
accept them.
The illegals are OFFERED jobs in the oo-ess by employers. The illegals
are here for the money. They would rather be in Mexico.
The capitalist system of the oo-ess makes the employers above the law
hence they can hire whoever they wish.
The oo-ess has 17 million junkies. These are useless as a workforce
which is why the employers prefer the illegals.

Now don't whine......We like to take our fureigners in limited numbers
just so we they actually can assimilate rather than have the problems
that an Iraq might have for instance. They'll have the chance to make
better in-laws when they speak the same lingo.
After all. We took the Southwest "oo-ess" fair and square from a
regime that didn't have the resources to cultivate or hold it like
we could..........One of our more profitable wars.

The capitalist system of the oo-ess makes the employers above the law

Actually not the "oo-ess" capitalist system so much as a certain
apathy among voters who find it convenient not to hold the "oo-ess"
El Presidente accountable for not living up to his constitutional
responsibilities for the sake of his entrepreneurial donar base.
Sort of like Mexico's general apathy allows Drug Kingpins to be
above the law.

The oo-ess has 17 million junkies. These are useless as a workforce

They don't do so bad in the prison industries where you can monitor
them a bit......We have no shortage of illegals in the Federal prisons
learning pot-holder weaving skills and such.

Theodore Roosevelt once counseled in foreign policy to:
"Speak softly and carry a big stick."
Not quite like Junior's WWF *****-talking fureign policy towards Iran.

Perhaps addressing the melting pot sentiment rather than just
xenophobia though he was a politico of his times, I'm sure.

I love that.
Since he also did such great things with a Gibson SG and
horns 'n' stuff, back with the "Mothers of Invention" which
I also appreciated: I might hafta just pass that quote around
now and then.

In 100 years, actually, well make it 50 years...Mexicans will be looked
at just like every other group of imigrants that came to america....we
treated the irish, the chineese, the itallians the same way we are
treating the mexicans right now. It's just a matter of time.

This should replace the drivel that's now on the Statue of Liberty.
