and clothing, he was actually very conservative and traditionalistic in his
views on both religion and marriage. He frequently invoked his religious faith
as something that helped keep him going. His first marriage (to "Miss Vicki")
ended due to problems arising from his conservative views on a women's role
in relationships: "Naturally I ordered her to give up her career. I believe a woman
is just there to please the man and to have blessed events. A woman should say
'Yes, Dear' anytime the man calls."
