WASHINGTON -- The Army said Friday it surpassed its recruiting goal for May,
marking the 12th consecutive month of meeting or exceeding its target.
Before it began the streak in June 2005, the active Army had missed its
target four consecutive months. And even though results improved during the
summer months, it missed its full-year target for the first time since 1999.
The Army National Guard and Army Reserve also fell short of their 2005 goals
but are doing better now......

to college (it's the economy stupid) so they simply enlist.

whatever "news source" that comes from, is highly unlikely to have the
capacity to understand the concept that they lowered their goals in
order to make the performance look better. These are the same people
who think they made a net gain when they get a $300.00 tax refund...
