I think this is more having to do with the guy in charge of the movie
being catholic and maybe some pressure by the church down the street.
Between this movie and the upcoming priest murder trial, a lot of
catholics, especially the older ones are getting really defensive. One
of my friend's mother is in total attack mode.
Yep, Church before truth or justice.
I vaguely know the priest accused of murdering the nun. From all the
stuff I've heard from cop friends, it's gonna be a good trial.

Funny thing was, until the child molesting (something else her nephew is
accused of, BTW)scandal broke, she wasn't too into the church. When one
of the first priests accused was a guy who grew up with her, she got all
worked up, denied and denied, until she saw him confess on TV, then,
instead of waking her up, it made her go further into turtle mode. Then
when her nephew got busted, she went off the deep end. The whole thing
is unmentionable around her. She claims it's a plot by the cops to frame
the nephew. My friend, while riding with her on a 4 hour trip, stupidly
told her that the cops who investigated the case 25 years ago were
catholic, and at least two of the ones who "broke" it are catholic too.
It was a very long drive.
