Travel Warning for foreigners entering the US |
Travel Warning

This information is current as of today, Wed Sep 06 2006 03:47:27

United States of America
August 31, 2006
This is a Travel Warning for any foreign national considering travel
within the United States of America.
This reminds tourists and businessmen of the continued threat of gun
violence within the United States and stresses the importance of
obtaining proper travel documents before attempting entry into any part
of the country. This supersedes the Travel Warning issued for the
United States of America on February 6, 2006.
For example, there are about 30,000 people within the United States of
America killed by guns each year. You could be one of them.
Although some areas are safer than others, tourists have even been
killed within or near so called 'tourist areas'. Tourists should remain
vigilan for gun violence and at the first teltale signs of gunfire, a
sort of popping sound, should immediately drop to the ground and remain
prone until the danger has past.
Guns and ammunition are easily obtainable to just about anyone within
the United States. Even if certain persons are not elligible to purchase
a weapon, they use what's called a 'straw man' technique to skirt the
law. Additionally, guns are easily available to anyone with cash on the
'black market'.
Additionally, if you are struck by a bullet and require medical care, be
warned. There is no national health insurance for Americans, so you will
have to pay cash or credit for any care you receive. If your gunshot
requires surgery, you could be liable for 25 to 50 thousand dollars of
medical care. Hospital quality varies widely as well, with 'inner city'
public hospitals being the worst, and 'for profit/private' hospitals
providing better care.
You must remember not to carry a gun for protection yourself, as this is
illegal in most jouristicians. If you are arrested for gun possesion,
remember that George W. Bush has suspended the US Constitution and can
have you held indefinetly, without trial, or access to legal council.
There have even been cases where the authorities classify you as a
'terrorist enemy combatant' and ship you off to a dog kennel like prison
cell on Cuba's mainland where they can legally torture you.
Additionally, the US is increasingly using 'racial profiling' to
'identify' perceived threats. This applies particularly to anyone of
Middle Eastern descent, and doesn't help if you are carrying a Qran or
other fanitical religious material and talk about Jihad, or how you got
your religious training in Northern Pakistan.

<SNIP>
ADDITIONAL WARNING: Watching TV in the US can seriously reduce your IQ.
As a foreigner that visited the US last year for 3 weeks I was shocked at
the quality of the TV. Not once during my time there did I see any news from
outside the US except for some trigger happy yanks in Iraq. More worrying is
how "news" is conveyed - for example I was in the US during Hurrican
Katrina - there were no facts, no discussion, no analysis, no counterbalance
to the offial line, no impartiality from the network - just idiot OB casts
asking people how they feel now their house has been washed away with all
their possesions - well how would you feel, durrr?
With so much sh!t being shovelled into the eyes of US viewers I can at least
now almost understand why all the Americans I've ever met are the way they
are.

Next time you cross the pond, make a point of going into a Blue State,
not a Red one, and talk to a wider range of people.
You might discover that 65% of American's now see Bush as a moron and
his war in Iraq as moronic.
But, you've got a point. Major news outlets in the US are controlled by
corporations, who, in turn, control most people's thinking with it. Our
national politions do nothing but pander to these monied special
interests. How else could they stay in office?
So, debate is supressed, thought is controlled.
Most American's can't see it, of course, because they've NEVER been
exposed to even basic concepts of 'critical thought', or more diverse views.
