US Efforts to Oust Jaafari May Backfire |
US Efforts to Oust Jaafari May Backfire
by Jim Lobe
Efforts by the United States to split the Shi'ite United Iraqi
Alliance (UIA) and deny interim Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari his
claim to head the next government could well prove counter-productive
to long-term U.S. objectives in both Iraq and the larger region,
according to some specialists here.
Not only has heavy-handed U.S. intervention in negotiations to create
a new government deepened divisions among the various factions, they
say, but efforts to marginalize Jaafari – epitomized by secretary of
state Condoleezza Rice's snub during her trip with British Foreign
Minister Jack Straw to Baghdad earlier this week – risk empowering
groups that are much more closely tied to neighboring Iran.

Seems it might be time for the US to start becoming isolationist and cutting
off all Nations who have anything whatsoever with stirring up hatred toward
America.
It's obvious that the Bush Jackwads have no credibility, much less brains or
diplomacy.
Leave the spying to spies not imbecile Rice.

Hell we could cut off foreign welfare in general and our standing in
the world would probably increase dramatically.
It's obvious that the Bush Jackwads have no credibility, much less brains or
diplomacy.
The fallout from the last Middle East over-reach will affect Junior's
successor whoever he or she is. It's not just the Bush administration
who's hot to disarm Iran for instance.........Democrat shills for an
Iran war aren't excactly short on the ground in DC either.
They're just a little quieter right now.
Leave the spying to spies not imbecile Rice.
And leave the diplomacy to someone who doesn't dutifully
work for Israel's interests. If Junior had put James Baker in that
spot: I'd of actually been on board with his administration's
agenda.......Because Carlyle lobbyist James Baker never wanted
to invade Iraq as do Juniors Israel first neoCONs.
I doubt if a preemptive nuclear strike on Iran would be on the
table in such an administration either........Will it be in a future
Democrat administration?............
