US State Department adds to American travel warning list |
This list is getting longer and longer. We are more and more unwelcome
overseas.

Current Travel Warnings (Sept 05, 2006)
Travel Warnings are issued when the State Department recommends that
Americans avoid a certain country. The countries listed below are
currently on that list. In addition to this list, the State Department
issues Consular Information Sheets for every country of the world with
information on such matters as the health conditions, crime, unusual
currency or entry requirements, any areas of instability, and the
location of the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate in the subject country.

I've seen Americans jeered and abused in London. Just for being American.
One poor girl opened her mouth on the tube to reveal her american accent and
almost instantly got a barrage of abuse. Two other Americans I know living
in London tell people they are from Canada because they are too ashamed of
saying they are from the US.
