Object: US to Address Illegal Alien Issue
Highlights of H.R. 4437, the Border Protection, Anti-Terrorism,
and Illegal Immigration Control Act of 2005 (passed in the House
239-182 on Dec 16, 2005).
* Entering the United States illegally would now be considered
a crime and a felony. Illegal aliens would be deported, and
barred from future legal status and re-entry into the United
States.
* Illegal aliens apprehended along the US border, or at a port
of entry, would be detained until they are deported.
* Any individual or organization who knowingly assists an illegal
alien "to reside in or remain" in the United States would be
liable for criminal penalties and five years in prison.
* The Department of Homeland Security will erect up to 700 miles
of fencing along the Southwest border at points with the highest
number of illegal alien deaths.
* State and local law enforcement agencies are required to
enforce Federal immigration laws. State and local governments
which refuse to enforce immigration laws would be subject to
the loss of Federal funding.
* Immigrant applicants who have been convicted of a crime would
be barred from permanent legal residence and US citizenship.
* Providing fraudulent information while applying for US citizenship
would be considered an aggravated felony and the applicant would be
subject to deportation and be barred from re-entry into the United
States.

number of illegal alien deaths.

Now if they would promised erect a fence around the entire US and guarantee
that all Americans would remain behind it, the cost to the American taxpayer
would be $0.00. It might even turn a profit as decent people the world over
would be delighted to make donations toward the construction.

Hah, I knew there would be a catch. It should be one-for-one.
You pay me to stay here. Your buddy could pay someone else and so
forth until we're all covered.
