VETERANS - READ THIS! |
Doesn't anyone care how people treat the flag anymore, whether a
business treats it with respect?
In Lakewood, Colorado ( Corner of Depew and Alameda ) the Chase
Bank is flying a faded filthy old tattered thinly worn American
flag that looks like it's been there since that branch of the bank
first opened years ago and has never been taken down.
They don't even care to treat it with respect per American flag
protocols. I went in there and mentioned it to them last week and
they said they'd pass my complaint on, yet they did nothing. They
are disrespecting the flag.
http://lakewoodcolorado.net/FLAG-CHASE/
Won't anyone take them to task about this?
Please pass this on to any veterans or other loyal Americans you
know, who still care about the flag, and ask them to complain to
Chase Bank about this and get them to actually do something.

Buy a new one yourself and give it to them, for crying out loud. If they
don't / won't fly it, then you really do have a beef.

Oh yeah, I should have to buy a flag for a multi-billion dollar
corp that doesn't respect theirs. Right.

Hmmm....I don't think you get the picture.
I'm not speaking for the poster you reply to, of course, but personally
if the company chose to "buck it upstairs" as you informed us they did
with you, then I'd buy them a flag, invite the local media, and have a
little press conference presentation, and would sign off with, "And Mr.
Mgr, would you be so good as to run up the flag now with me, while the
local boyscout troop, the local VFW chapter, and the National Guard
honor guard stand to the colors?"
eheheheheh..

Although I have not been in the area for quite some time.
I've seen this for, seems to me 5 years and longer, it keeps looking worse.
This very much pisses me off every time I see how they continue to
neglect this flag. Either fucking take it down or replace it!
Like where soo many people displayed chinese made American mini-flags on
their cars until they were beyond tattered. Too lazy to either buy new
ones or to take them off.
Liberall American Flag lover has sopken.

Presuming you know, as a veteran, or by looking in a boy scout manual,
the proper protocols for decommissioning a United States flag, why not
offer to do the job for them.
Just complaining tends to put people's back up. You can also contact
your VFW, as I believe I've heard they perform this service. Likely a
local military base of any kind would also respond if asked.
Personally I prefer to hear taps played at the burning destruction of
the decommissioned flag. But I don't know it's required.
And I agree with you. No US Flag should be flown in such a condition.
And thank you for the heads up. I needed the reminder.
The next time I see one, instead of just whining to myself about
disrespect and driving or walking on (I'm human, after all) I will take
my own advice. I'll offer to decommission the flag.
I'm sure you can even find out how on line.

With a big corp like that, they probably have to issue a memo and
write a requisition then wait 6 months for permission to take it
down.

I doubt they'd listen.
