Wag the Osama
January 21, 2006
Isn't it a mighty big coincidence that Osama returns for a bizarre
appearance just as Bush is on the ropes for illegal spying on
Americans -- and as Karl Rove announces that he is going to use fear
again to maintain one-party dictatorial control over America in the
fall elections?
Not that we are skeptical or anything, but on top of that, the White
House media echo chamber used the alleged and ludicrous "negotiate or
I will attack" video to vilify Dems for being weak in the war on
terror and "aiding" the "enemy."
Of course, it was Bush who said a few years ago, he would get Osama
dead or alive -- and then after failing to do so said that Osama
didn't matter.
It wasn't long after that that he told NBC's Matt Lauer that he didn't
think we could win the war on terror.
(We're not sure if he was talking about the bad guys or his war of
terrorizing Americans, but we think he meant the war against the bad
guys.)
But the Republicans are all attack and no truth.
Something the Democratic leadership just can't absorb, so the GOP
junkyard dogs project George's short fallings (too numerous to count)
on the dreaded "liberal enemy."
This is called scapegoating.
It is the eternal tool of the demagogue.
Ann Coulter is both the caricature and the real epitome of the
strategy.
In essence, it relies on making anyone who disagrees with our Il Duce
as the enemy.
The Jews in Europe experienced this, and yes the comparison is
appropriate.
We don't apologize for it.
Just read Mein Kampf.
You make your opposition (or a "perceived" opposition) into something
to be so dreaded that they pose a threat to the national interest and
need to be suppressed.
Yes, the Jews in Germany thought, "It can't happen to us, not here in
a civilized nation."
But what is civilized about the gulag of torture centers that Bush,
Cheney and Rumsfeld have set up?
It's a short leap from "them" being tortured to anyone who opposes the
"supreme ruler."
So paid propagandists like Sean Hannity employ the Goebbels techniques
of equating terrorism with Republican political opponents.
The very title of a recent Hannity propaganda tome reveals this
strategy:
"Deliver Us from Evil: Defeating Terrorism, Despotism, and
Liberalism."
Because evil, in the right wing extremist world, is both terrorism and
liberalism.
As a blurb for "Deliver Us from Evil" claims, "he [Hannity] reveals
why the Democrats imploded and the president prevailed-while urging
Americans to stay the course and remain vigilant about the twin
dangers of terrorism abroad and liberalism at home."
Hannity is employing the "mirroring" linguistic techniques that George
Bush's handlers had him use to sell the Iraq War by placing the phrase
"9/11" and Saddam Hussein together in as many sentences and contexts
as possible.
In Hannity's case, the goal is to put terrorism and liberalism in the
same category of evil.
Liberals are the enemy because they endanger America, he argues.
This is very dangerous territory, which the Democrats are intimidated
by, just as the Weimar Republic fell to the bullying and emotional
demagoguery of the brown shirts.
Liberals and Democrats who think that this is just some sort of
passing lowbrow phenomena are making a critical error.
Liberals are being "mirrored" with terrorists as the source of "evil"
in America.
You ignore such demagoguery at your peril.
That is what Bush was doing when he said that there are "appropriate
forms" of debate on the war -- and "other" forms that aid the
terrorists.
The latter are any criticisms of his actions.
If you say he is committing an illegal act, you are aiding the enemy.
And so it was time to roll out Osama again.
To continue his march toward dictatorship, Bush requires Osama.
They are, in a way, two adversaries who need each other for political
survival among their constituents.
If Bush didn't have Osama, Rove would have invented him.
You can do a lot of things to create great videotape "B" roll, just
watch the movie "Wag the Dog."
It's the Bush game plan in a nutshell.
Just repeat after us: Fear, Distraction, Fear, Distraction, Fear,
Distraction...
Yes, there's a terrorist threat to our way of life.
But there's also a more immediate threat to our Constitution, our
democracy and our liberties coming from the White House.
In the name of preventing the terrorists from attacking us for our
freedoms, Bush is taking them away from us one by one.
He is letting the terrorists win.
He is betraying America.
Osama has checkmated him.
The real enablers of helping the terrorists achieve their goals of
bringing democracy to its knees are in the White House.
And, although memory in a time of 6-hour news cycles is fleeting, it
might be worth a little jog of the brain to remember that an alleged
Osama tape showed up the Friday before the 2000 presidential election,
widely credited with helping George W. Bush gain votes based on the
subconscious "fear factor."
Such coincidences have a way of continuing to occur at vitally
important moments for the Bush Administration, don't they?
Either Osama wants Bush to stay in power -- and, therefore, Bush is
the real choice of the terrorists -- Osama is working in cahoots with
the Bush Administration in a sort of a wink and a nod "understanding
between enemies" sort of way, or the video was fabricated.
It's one of the three folks, because Osama is not dumb -- and he knows
that the release of any video or audiotape at such times only
strengthens Bush's hand to clamp down on freedom and the Constitution
domestically (a goal of Al Qaeda according to Bush himself),
strengthen the consolidation of Imperial presidential powers, and
continue the war in Iraq and the torturing and killing of anyone
Bush's crew considers a "non-combatant threat."
And this videotape will be used by the Busheviks to try and bolster
their right to illegally wiretap Americans -- and then use that
precedent to further break the law and violate the Constitution.
So why would Osama release videos and taperecordings at moments that
only help Bush when he is in political need?
Ah, now you understand.

Title: The End Game 23 Jan 2006 12:45:54 PM
The End Game
Imagine if one can an end game where the President, in an effort to
avoid prosecution contrives, if not to consolidate complete power
stages a coup de-tat, or even a treasonous and hideous attack upon
America similar to the magnitude of 9/11.
Imagine if one can, the President decreeing Posse Commitatus, and
invoking martial law.
Far fetched? Perhaps not.
America has come to a point in it's incursion into Iraq which directly
questions the means by which we are now there. Information is now
surfacing in the course of a number of scandals how this has come to
be. The pieces of the puzzle are coming together, and time is of the
essense for this Administration, including a desperate measure, such
as those which has recently sought to impinge upon the Constitution,
as well as to blatantly lie to the American people over matters which
are glaringly obvious.
It is simply unimaginable to fathom the totality of such an event. How
will America respond to another attack, be it real, foreign or
otherwise? How will America respond to edicts handed down by this
President, who to this date his policies are coming under close
scrutiny by legal authorities and political enemies alike?
Imagine the "End Game."
America, already fertile, and clearly divided over this leadership
falls into a mentality of "us versus them," and the 'usual suspects'
are rounded up. Dissent ranging from civil disobedience to out right
acts of domestic terrorism flash in cities throughout the country, and
in some cases hundred fold in comparison to the riots that engulfed
France the past summer. Pockets of resistance to the edict to control
the masses begin to organize in a manner similar to the Irish
Republican Army, and direct attacks upon the leadership regardless of
partisanship begin to occur - Washington, D.C. is now under military
lockdown, and frequent sweeps of the city for opposition and unrest
are conducted, and in a manner similar to that which is now seen in
Baghdad.
Meanwhile, at the other end of the world, and as the military begins
to withdraw from Iraq to reinforce troops in the US, the attack by the
real enemy begins.
Exploiting the civil chaos that has engulfed the nation, infiltrators,
spies and military assets begin to seep into the country. Unlikely
coalitions are formed to counter the onslaught of a far more powerful
fascist government power. These unions are similar to what the
intelligence service forged in the way of assets during the
Soviet-Afghanistan war during the 1980s and others which became a
detriment to the country's foreign policies involving the likes of
Osama bin Laden, and to a greater extent, those including Gen. Manuel
Noreiga of Panama, José Napoleón Duarte of El Salvador, Ferdinand
Marcos of the Philippines, and even Saddam Hussein, just to name a few
- Names now forgotten in this new age in the "War on Terror."
Can this happen? Of course not . . . Maybe.
Rome was not built in a day, and it's demise was certainly attributed
to an enemy within. America is on the brink of approaching a
cross-roads in the Middle East under a leadership which is now facing
charges that touch upon "high crimes and misdemeanors," and outright
falsehoods from an Administration that are piling high upon one
another which has eroded the credibility and respect of this
Presidency.
However, America shall survive. "Remember the Maine." Remember Pearl
Harbor . . . Remember 9/11, but it is clear that America does indeed
possess a short memory, when those who are willing to surrender their
Constitutional Rights to a Presidency, or accepts foreign policy
decisions which is diametric to this nation's history as a leader, and
condones the it's own "terror" even in the eyes and hearts of
traditional allies around the world.
America will survive, and as long as this imperfect form of democracy
serves the will of the People, and not a cadre of those in the
Executive branch of government, which does indeed possess an
undisputed "privilege" of turning a country on it's end.
"If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so
long as I'm the dictator." — President-elect, George W. Bush,
Washington, D.C., December 19, 2000

Title: Ominous Signals - When Al Qaeda Speaks . . . . 30 Jan 2006 05:05:18 PM
Ominous Signals
When Al Qaeda speaks, people should listen. Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama
bin Laden's No. 2 appeared on tape today, and not long after Osama bin
Laden himself appeared last week, offering words of truce via the
Al-Jazeera network and as reported by the MSM in the United States.
There are some things interesting about this particular tape that
should be noted.
Zawahiri goes to say:
" . . .Bush, do you know where I am? I am among the Muslim masses,
enjoying their care with God's blessings and sharing with them their
holy war against you until we defeat you . . ."
" . . .My first message is to the butcher of Washington, Bush: You are
not just defeated and lying about it, but you are, with God's help, a
loser . . .You are bad luck to your people; you brought them disasters
and catastrophes, and you will bring them even more disasters . . ."
" . . .To the American mother I say, if the defense ministry called
you to tell you your son is coming back home in a coffin, remember
Bush . . .To the British wife I say, if you got a call telling you
your husband is coming back home with his body charred, remember
[British Prime Minister Tony] Blair . . ."
"I will meet my death when God wishes . . ."
Yes, it appears that he is taunting Bush specifically and not America
as a whole. It appears that he/they are propagandistically using Bush
to what ever ends they hope to achieve by raising the spectre of death
and destruction, and this is very troublesome. Between the lines he is
making an appeal to Americans and the British alike to consider ending
the war in Iraq, and Afghanistan. What is more ominious is that he
fanatically sounds a wee-bit like Bush.
Coupled with Christian Science Monitor's correspondent Jill Carroll
being held hostage by insurgents in Iraq, with threats to execute her,
and including the daily violence death and destruction occuring in
that country, things do not look promising at the moment. Furthermore,
this tape by Zawahiri couldn't have come at a worst time for Bush, and
on the eve of his State of the Union Address. This is unprecedented in
American history when a foe comes calling in this manner. And as a
"war president," Bush will have to muster, not only composure but
character and the ability to coherently speak to a nation concerned.
For now is not the time for war drum rhetoric, but for possible
thumbnail solutions to counter a threat that is real, and here.
The thought of another 9/11 occuring is frightening to many Americans,
and these latest utterances from Al Qaeda (after months of silence)
should raise not only awareness but that of alert and vigilance.
Afterall, the August 2001 PDB which appeared to have been ignored by
the Bush administration is now coming back to haunt it with "signals"
of a very different sort - And out of due diligence, we ALL must take
notice.
