Administration battles Warner on troop drawdown
by David Lerman
The White House and Defense Department fired twin shots Friday at a
proposal by Virginia Sen. John Warner to begin withdrawing troops from
Iraq by Christmas, signaling a firm resolve by the Bush administration
to beat back a challenge from one of the Senate's most respected
Republican members.
One day after Warner called on President Bush to withdraw about 5,000
troops by Christmas to put pressure on the Iraqi government to reform,
officials lined up to attack the plan, albeit gently.

5,000? Not nearly enough, but his heart's in the right place.

Sad to say Warners concern has less to do with saving American
soldiers lives than it has too do with the saving of House and Senate
Republickcan seats!!!- Hide quoted text -

Typical of Bush to defy all logic and continue to "Stay the Course".
What's that law of motion? "A MIND at Rest STAYS at Rest?
