The father of a teenager who was fatally shot by police
during a drug search said the shooting was unprovoked,
and the state director of the League of United Latin
American Citizens said he will ask the FBI to investigate.
Seventeen-year-old Daniel Castillo Jr. died after being
shot as members of a Wharton County drug task force
executed a search warrant at his home.
Daniel Castillo Sr. said his son woke up when he heard
his 20-year-old sister pleading with police. The younger
Castillo was shot in the face as he turned toward the
officer, Castillo Sr. said.
The agencies investigating the shooting declined to
comment about the investigation Wednesday.
Wharton County District Attorney Josh McCown said
that the Rangers are participating in the probe.
Wharton police Capt. David Coleman said the officer
involved in the shooting, Don Falks, is a six-year veteran
of the Wharton department with no prior law enforcement
experience. Falks is on paid administrative leave
pending results of the investigation, Coleman said.
Coleman declined to comment on whether Falks has
been involved in other shootings as an officer.
Rick Dovalina, state director of the League of United
Latin American Citizens, said he spent with the Castillo
family and officials in Wharton, about 50 miles southwest
of Houston. Dovalina said he will ask the FBI to
investigate the shooting.

%%%% Apparently they do quite often. Remember only the police should have
firearms.
Tart tongues are tittering about the lovefest Hillary Clinton enjoyed this
week on the Rosie O'Donnell show. The two wore nearly identical dark pant
suits, and the hefty hostess kept referring to her guest affectionately as
"Hill."...Time magazine [is] preparing to anoint Hillary -- who's already on
the cover of Vogue -- as its Person of the Year. And yesterday, Hillary was
back on TV on Today giving Katie Couric a tour of the white House Christmas
decorations. The Horndog-in-Chief barely got a word in edgewise. When Couric
asked what they were thankful for this year, Hillary said, "We're healthy,
and we're sill here to do the job we were sent here to do." Notice the use
of the word "we." -- Page Six, New York Post, December 10, 1998

Legally no. It's going to be turned over to a grand jury.

Don't you think that it's a little too late to take this case
to the courts, considering teen's life has already been
taken away from him, and pigs stupid argument about
"him killing himself long before pig's bullet ended his
life" works wonders in prearranged acquittal against all
odds in clearly premeditated homicide by authorities.

No. Should we just abolish criminal courts altogether since they can do
nothing to reverse the fact that a crime has taken place?

Not only the crime has taken a place, but
it's being completely justified by those who
in position to justify commitment of their own
crime, leaving their victims at disadvantage.
But you don't have to be discouraged by their
unfairness and the lawlessness to this extent.
Because identifying the rascals is only a first
step on the way to a solution of this problem....
