Fearful of the FCC crackdown on indecent broadcasts, at least 18 ABC
affiliates plan to pre-empt the network's unedited broadcast of the
film
"Saving Private Ryan" at 8 Thursday
Maybe it had more to do with Spielberg being a Hollywood Jew, 2 things
Pugs
can't figure out.
One more reason for the Christain Right FCC to nixed this film.
If you're interested in seeing it (I'm not) I believe it is available
for
rental in your neighborhood movie rental place. Nobody is forcing you
to
rent it if you don't want to, however.....
I this Oscar winning film so much, I bought the DVD.
This a great surround sound video, especially with a good sound
sytem.
It should be seen by everyone how WWII Veterans suffered
and triumphed through the world's largest battle.
Put your sissy values aside and be Patriotic once in a
while.
Profane speech, which is barred from broadcast radio and television between
6 a.m. and 10 p.m., is defined by the FCC as language that is "so grossly
offensive to members of the public who actually hear it as to amount to a
nuisance," or epithets that tend "to provoke violent resentment."
The guidelines say the context in which such material appears is of critical
importance.
Cole cited recent FCC actions and last week's re-election of President Bush
as reasons for replacing "Saving Private Ryan" on Thursday with a music
program and the TV movie "Return to Mayberry."
"We're just coming off an election where moral issues were cited as a reason
by people voting one way or another and, in my opinion, the commissioners
are fearful of the new Congress," Cole said.
"Return to Mayberry."
HAHAHAHAHA!
