Can't you read?
And the author of the article that you didn't bother to read was
"assistant to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld from 1975 to 1977, and
arms control director under President Ronald Reagan" which I think
makes him one of "Georgie's guys".
See, that wasn't difficult?!?

BTW, is Adelman embarrased by his association with Rumsfeld? In an article

credentials are stated as "Ken Adelman was U.S. ambassador to the United

Here are some more statements of that stupid ilk which the Hairy Dope can
ponder:
* Feb. 7, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, to U.S. troops in Aviano, Italy:
"It is unknowable how long that conflict will last. It could last six days, six
weeks. I doubt six months."
* March 16, Vice President Cheney, on NBC's Meet the Press: "I think things have
gotten so bad inside Iraq, from the standpoint of the Iraqi people, my belief is
we will, in fact, be greeted as liberators. . . . I think it will go relatively
quickly, . . . (in) weeks rather than months." He predicted that regular Iraqi
soldiers would not "put up such a struggle" and that even "significant elements
of the Republican Guard . . . are likely to step aside."
*"In terms of the American taxpayers contribution, [$1.7 billion] is it for the
US. The rest of the rebuilding of Iraq will be done by other countries and Iraqi
oil revenues. The American part of this will be 1.7 billion. We have no plans
for any further-on funding for this." USAID Director Andrew Natsios, 4/23/03
*"Major combat operations in Iraq have ended." President Bush, 5/1/03
*"The notion that it would take several hundred thousand American troops just
seems outlandish." Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz, 3/4/03

Uh, not exactly, Harry. Read and learn what Bush and Blair
were saying in 2001:
Bush Prepares the Generals for a Long War
At a high-level Pentagon meeting the President asks for help for Army
reservists - and their employers
Posted Tuesday, Sep. 25, 2001
Wars are easy to start. But they can be difficult to sustain. George
W. Bush understands this, and so has been furiously managing
expectations, pressing the case with almost everyone he talks to that
this will be a long war against terrorism. Even his generals are
getting the pitch. Take last Monday morning, shortly after 11, when
Bush pulled a chair up to the long oval table in the Secretary of
Defense's private conference room across the hall from Donald
Rumsfeld's office on the E-ring of the Pentagon. It's the side almost
opposite the one sliced open by American Airlines Flight 77. Behind
Bush, the battle flags of the services with their campaign ribbons
hung from poles. Rumsfeld, Gen. Richard Meyers (who will soon take
over as joint chiefs chairman) and the generals and admirals in charge
of the country's Reserve and National Guard forces sat around the
table with thick briefing books opened.
Allies braced for a long war
By Toby Harnden in Washington and George Jones
A SECOND round of air strikes against the Taliban regime was launched
last night as President Bush and Tony Blair said it would be a long
war.
Troops move a 1,000lb bomb onto the flight deck of the aircraft
carrier USS Carl Vinson
As violent protests erupted in Pakistan and Gaza City over the
campaign, the allies said that Osama bin Laden's network had been
damaged in the first night of attacks.
But Donald Rumsfeld, the American defence secretary, said: "It is very
unlikely that the strikes will rock the Taliban back on their heels."
The war could take "some years".
President Bush said: "The military mission of yesterday was executed
as planned. On all fronts we are going to be ongoing and relentless as
we tighten the net of justice." But he too cautioned: "This will be a
long war."
