Beware of newsguy.com newsgroup service. When you
sign up for their $5.95 per month service for a max of 3 GB
per month, they bill your credit card for $14.95, even when
you've downloaded under 200 MB for the entire month.
They ignore your emails demanding the refund for the
overcharge, they ignore your emails canceling the service.
I filed a dispute with my bank, and the billing stopped, but
only for two months. They attempted to charge me again
for $14.95, when the account hadn't been used for over
3 1/2.
I noticed the pending payment when I logged into my online
banking, and immediately called the bank. The bank declined
the payment, and placed a block to prevent any future unauthorized
charges by these thieves.
Hopefully by making people aware of their scam, it will prevent others
from being ripped off too.
