WAS FURIOUS GEORGE ACTUALLY ADMITTING A MISTAKE? |
Or was he just putting on a poor-me act when he said Laura can speak
better English than he?

Back before he lost his congressional race he used to speak normally,
quickly and coherently. He has consciously slowed himself down to relate to
fool stupid people into relating. He seems to have aimed a bit too low.

I think it's a line he's used before--an attempt at a joke, just like when
he responded to Kerry's citation of two news sources; he tried to be funny
questioning the news media's reliability--but stopped halfway through with
an "uh, uh, never mind."
Cheers,

i would love to have seen Bob Scheiffer's face at that point.....
bush left very little doubt about what he was referring to. Scheiffer
works for CBS.
Cracked me up when bush mentioned the Lewin Group....... very right
leaning folks from WV. there claims about Kerry's health plan have been
debunked by at least two independent groups.

Yeah... that was actually a big faux pas that the press hasn't picked up
on yet....
The Lewin report is by no means all bad for Kerry. It confirms that he
would indeed cover a big chunk of the uninsured. Thorpe figured the
Democrat would pick up 28 million of the 45 million who are now without
coverage, AEI estimated 27.3 million, and Lewin projects 25 million. Bush
would cover between 2 million and 8 million, depending on whose estimate
you believe. The Lewin study also credits Kerry with lowering average
family health-care costs by $450 a year, while Bush's plan would actually
raise costs slightly.
Basically, Kerry's health care plan would cover TEN TIMES as many
uninsured as Bush's will CUTTING costs. Bush would cover less and cost
MORE!!!!!!!
