CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Apparently, the Bank of America Corporation has lost
computer data tapes containing personal information on 1.2 million federal
employees.
Worst of all, this data contains records of some of the members of the U.S.
Senate. Vermont liberal Democrat Comrade Senator Leahy is one of them. You
remember, he's the one who cannot be trusted with sensitive information. The
data could also have some sensitive information on Leahy, especially where
he charges stuff.
The missing data includes Social Security numbers and account information
that could make customers of a federal government charge card program
vulnerable to identity theft. It could also show that government charge card
programs are much more liberal than those available to the general public.
