We don't need permission to be free |
I just watched a video called This is What Democracy Looks like. It
was about the protests in Seattle of the World Trade Summit in 1999.
Part of the power was contrasting the coverage on the local TV
stations with video shot in the streets.
It also showed the sort of group mind that formed between people from
many countries, of all ages, from steelworkers to young anarchists to
environmentalists to grannies. They were DETERMINED. I was really
quite exciting to watch, especially some of the scenes reminiscent of
the movie Gandhi where the protesters peacefully submitted to beatings
and gassing.
This was a huge protest that shut down Seattle for several days, and
threatened also to shut down the ports.

Another reason to dismantle the cities, besides nigrafication. The white
middle class may become so diffuse that neither niggers nor white commie
punks may be able to get a bead on it.

It is quite a different sort of movie. It is not about why the WTO is
harming the planet, only indirectly. It about the protest and how the
protest transformed people in various ways. I think for many people
it was a spiritual experience, a sort of awakening to planetary
responsibility and even planetary consciousness.
It is empowering, especially the little bits by an east Indian woman
who explains in various ways how we are so much stronger when we link
together.
If you are a fat capitalist, I would not watch this movie. It will
give you nightmares.

They were using OC and CS gas.
Was not CS one of the weapons of mass destruction Bush accused Saddam
of planning to use on the USA?

Don't riot when you protest. Don't commit arson, don't vandalize,
don't trespass. Do EXACTLY what the cops demand of you.
Commit crimes while protesting and fully expect to be contained by the
police by baton, tear-gas, rubber bullets, and, (my favorite),
water-cannon.
I enjoy watching the cops bust the heads in of malcontent
anti-capitalist, anti-American 'protesters'.

You may want to concentrate on offering fewer posts. You'll have more
time to think about what you're saying.

Ha! Perhaps history will discover that a lone Canadian was primarily
responsible for bringing down Bush, mainly because of his astounding
typing speed on a Kinesis DSK keyboard. He simply overwhelmed the
hunt and peck flacks at the CIA.

You are bombarded with lies. My tiny voice is just a trickle to
counter them. I have to go full tilt to even hope to make the tiniest
dent.
