In a speech yesterday George Bush based his aggression in the middle east on
this theory,. "Like an earlier generation, America is pursuing a clear
strategy with our allies to achieve victory. Our immediate strategy is to
eliminate terrorist threats abroad, so we do not have to face them here at
home. The theory here is straightforward: terrorists are less likely to
endanger our security if they are worried about their own security. When
terrorists spend their days struggling to avoid death or capture, they are
less capable of arming and training to commit new attacks. We will keep the
terrorists on the run, until they have nowhere left to hide."
Now that seems perfectly rational. Logically if someone it going to hurt
you, you knock him down before he has a chance to take a swing at you.
Pretty logical. No doubt about it. However, Bush talks about earlier
generations. He is referencing World War 2. As a nation, Japan built up
aircraft carriers, airplanes, armies, etc and set out to conquer the United
States. It took years and billions of dollars for Japan to build up the
infrastructure, i.e. factories, energy plants, etc to build all those
aircraft carriers and other weaponry. THEREFORE, it was necessary for the
U.S. to build up the same weaponry and armies to fight the Japanese back.
AND JUST AS GEORGE BUSH SAYS..we went abroad and fought Japan and won the
victory. That is perfectly understandable.
What Bush doesn't get is on 9-eleven we were not attacked by a nation with
aircraft carriers or an army that was capable of taking the Philippines. WE
WERE ATTACKED BY 19 MEN! PERIOD. Two of which lived right here in San
Diego. They used our airplanes, our infrastructure, and in that sense, our
weaponry to attack us.
For goodness sakes while living right here in San Diego the terrorists did
not have to worry about their own security. They didn't have to spend their
days struggling to avoid death or capture! They were sitting right here
sucking up Coke-cola, eating Pizza and Tootsie Rolls. They didn't need to
arm anything. They used our own flight schools. That didn't take billions of
dollars. It was a pretty simple plan. Box cutters and airplane tickets. That
was it.
So if George Bush were to apply the logic that he suggested above, he would
have to go to every set of 19 men and kill them all to insure our safety.
Get it now? This is not like WW2 where you go and knock out Germany or Japan
to kill the threat. Knocking out the infrastructure of al Queda or Hezbollah
isn't like cutting down Japan or Germany. Because every time you knock down
one al Queda-like radical group, two more will pop up somewhere else. To
stop that Bush would have to kill every foreign man out there. That is not
going to happen.
The thing to remember is what happen on 9-eleven. 19 men used our aircraft
and our infrastructure to attack us. So to prevent that we have to keep our
resources and our infrastructure out of their hands. You do that here at
home. You do not do that by fighting a meaningless war in Iraq. By the way,
1,512 U.S service people have died in Bush's charade. 12240 have been
wounded. No matter what happens in the Middle East, still 19 men can come
here and blow up buildings or even worse. From overseas if they make a cyber
attack they can bring this nation to its economic knees in 24 hours FLAT.
They cut the computers that control the power grids and this country is
dead. And remember terrorists can buy fire arms here just as easy as anyone
else can by fire arms. The FBI doesn't double check that. WE ARE SITTING
DUCKS AND BUSH IS IGNORING THAT! Also remember 3 million aliens come across
our borders every year.
The war in Iraq is over money and oil. You are delusional if you think
fighting anything in Iraq or the Middle East is going to protect you here at
home.
