DoD Identifies Navy Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a sailor who
was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Petty Officer 1st Class Gary T. Rovinski, 44, of Roseville, Ill., died
June 5, in Al Anbar Province, Iraq, as a result of enemy action when
his HMMWV was struck by an improvised explosive device.
Rovinski was assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 25, Fort
McCoy, Wis.
The name of a second sailor killed in the attack is being withheld
pending notification of the next of kin.
