Bomb Attack in Iraq Kills U.S. Soldier, Army Says
BAGHDAD (Reuters) -
A bomb that was detonated as a U.S. convoy drove past Thursday killed
one American soldier and wounded two near the restive Iraqi town of
Ramadi, a military spokeswoman said.
She said the attack happened east of Ramadi, in the "Sunni triangle"
region where much of the resistance against U.S. forces is
concentrated.
The attack brought to 180 the number of U.S. soldiers killed in action
in Iraq since major combat was declared over on May 1.
