Committee chooses Bible-based curriculum for class
ODESSA, Texas --
A West Texas school board approved a curriculum that uses the Bible as
its main textbook for an elective course Tuesday, a decision opponents
fear invites proselytizing and spurns non-Protestant students.
Saying it had overwhelming support from the community, the Ector
County Independent School District board voted 4-2 in favor of
adopting the more conservative curriculum offered by the National
Council on Bible Curriculum in Public Schools.
The National Council curriculum uses the King James Bible as its
textbook.
The other choice before the school board, offered by the Bible
Literacy Project, uses the text "The Bible and Its Influence" and
includes broader discussions of other faiths.

"Land of the stupid".
Education is about learning, not motives. Just teach the kids facts, and
they'll be OK. Start telling them that a guy called Jesus WAS the son of
god, and that the world WAS created 5,000 years ago, and they'll grow up
stupid and gullible. Hardly good breeding stock to further the nation, or
indeed the world.
cheers for that, america. way to hurt the human race.

Double jeopardy for these kids.
Not only are they going to be stupid, they're going to spend eternity in
Hell for not being Catholic.

The more uneducated Americans there are, the fewer there'll be
that'll compete with my own educated children. So let the rightard
Christofascists ***** over their children. Does _my_ kids a world
of good.

We already have plenty of evidence of how one religious freak from
Texas can screw America. Give it back to Mexico so no more of them
can run for president.
