Air America To Remain On WLIB
By Ken Tucker
Despite rampant rumors to the contrary, Inner City Broadcasting’s WLIB
New York will continue to be the flagship station for New York-based
liberal talk network Air America Radio.
The companies are in the process of finalizing a new agreement.
"We are happy to reiterate that our New York listeners will be able to
continue to hear our programming," Air America CEO Danny Goldberg said
in a release.
"Inner City has always had faith in the mission of Air America," ICBC
vice chairman Skip Finley added.
As previously reported, the New York Daily News, the New York Post and
other media outlets had recently predicted the demise of the deal
between the two companies.

The devil is in the details hairy, and in case you failed to pay attention
those details were notably missing. Could it be that once again AAR has yet
been propped up by Soros or another huge liberal/socialist donor? Or will
those details show that AAR at this station is actually turning a profit and
the numbers were previously discovered to be inaccurate? Fat chance wouldn't
you say hairy???

<laughing> Well, at least this time you didn't launch a diatribe on a
spoof from the Onion. However, it's just as good; semantically, you got
nothing except the FACT that AAR lives, breathes and grows!

ALL the claims of AAR's alleged problems is from ONE opinion
column writer, Maloney, with no sources or facts to back them up. There
is absolutly NO hard evidence that AAR is having financial problems.
Thre is NO hard evidence that Soros, or anyone else is giving them
money in any way other than as a business investment.
There is lots of evidence that AAR is doing OK; low station dropout
rate, Arbitron trending up, new stations and talent joining the
network, reports that they have just leased additional satellite
channels, etc. None of these would be the case if they were failing.
Maloney has built a strawman. When AAR is still in business on April
1, he will use it as evidence that someone bailed them out but without
any citation to support the claim. That is just Echo Chmaber Fuel and my
second grader can seee through the logic of this BS arguement.
As of 3/15 a St Louis station joined AAR. Why would a station
owner switch formats to a network that was about to fold?
