Object: What Do You Think? ...
The Bush Administration is running in to major problems in Iraq due to
their failure to understand the Iraqi people.
The new Iraqi government has been found corrupt on many levels.
Paramilitary groups have infiltrated the security forces and act as
Death Squads for hire. Politicians that do not bow to extremeist will
are murdered.
The insurgany rages on as never before. The administration's stupidity
has resulted in a vicious circle of violence that has absolutly no end
in site. Extremist have an absolutly unlimited supply of combatants as
attacks are on the rise.
At home Bush and his party spill lies on the people. Rumsfeld denies
there is an insurgancy in Iraq, claiming "insurgancy" gives them far to
much credit.
This needs to end.

Your question is "what do you think".
The answer is simple. It's the corruption. The whole endeavor was conceived
on lies and corruption. How could it have turned out any differently than
it has? It's a failure because there is no honor, or no just cause when the
original intent was corrupt.
It is impossble for it to turn out to be anything but failure. Bush points
the finger at many for his failures, but avoids the man in the mirror. But,
he can only avoid that for so long. Like all criminals and tyrants, his day
is due.

them and giving them freedom and the right to vote for their future.

Christian
We screwed them over because we left them off worse then when we
started. Yes the "thieving tyrant" was bad but we let more bad people
in. If we had let it stay the way it was we wouldn't be in the mess
that we are in and the people of Iraq wouldn't end up in an anarchy
state where terrorists reign supreme.

The people of Iraq are no freer than they were before the US attacked.
Terrorists now controle with more brutality than Saddam. In order to
make there country safe, the Iraqis will likely chose to have a
government more like that of Iran than Jordan or Turkey. If that is
the system that they chose, the US has no buisniss forcing the Iraqi
people to do otherwise.

They got to vote when Saddam is in power.
They are going to end up with a Shiite Islamic Republic that
functions in lockstep with Iran. That will happen whether US
troops leave tomorrow or leave in six months or leave in a year
or leave in ten years. The only difference in the outcome is
how much more American blood and treasure will be wasted getting
there.

LOL. Is it even worth responding to that? Push button 1 for Saddam. Push
button 2 and your daughter gets raped by Saddam's son and you end up in a

True enough, Saddam did not have Diebold machines like Ohio,
where it didn't matter which button you pushed. However, Bush's
puppet government was reporting Saddam-like totals (90%+) in
some places in the last election, so Iraqi still have the same
concept of an election that they did under Saddam.
The Shiites will still form an Islamic republic and align with
Iran, no matter how many more Americans die.

Perhaps you could get Jessi Jackson to get to the bottom of it. Although
I've yet to see the left complain when people were killed trying to vote in
Iraq.

If what they want is an Islamic republic than so be it. Unless you are
insinuating the Islamic republic = terrorists state. They don't always go
hand in hand.

I agree with you wholeheartedly Lars but this " wasted treasure" you
speak of isn't ours to squander... it's loaned "wasted treasure" from

Right now Iraq kids are going to school, they had their first free

The problem is, I think, is that so many in the media and politcs HATE
Bush so much that they refuse to report ANYTHING positive about the
