WHAT IF KERRY LOSES?
TvNewsLIES.org CONSIDERS THE UNTHINKABLE
The next few nights will be sleepless ones, for sure. In a little more
than a week, either John Kerry or George W. Bush will be elected
President of the United States for the next for years. And I’m worried.
The 2000 election seems like yesterday. I can still feel the despair as
the Supreme Court selected the new leader of our nation, and the world
applauded Al Gore for his gracious acquiescence. Oh well, - next time
around, we thought. We’ll survive the four years, and fight back harder
next time. I Guess what? It’s next time now, and I’m really, really
worried.
Who could have predicted the disaster we’ve just lived through? Who
could have foreseen the totality of the catastrophic years of the
Bush/PNAC/Religious Right administration? Phrases come to mind: war and
pestilence, death and disorder, repression and fascism. Memories push
their way into my head: Rice warning of a mushroom cloud, Powell lying
through his teeth, Cheney promising a cake walk. And of course, in my
head I see a dozen images of George Bush: orchestrated, staged,
rehearsed, and programmed, yet stumbling and faltering through a haze of
practiced sound bites. Yeah, I’m really, really worried.
Four years of absolute failure, and half the nation cheers wildly. Four
years of failed wars, failed economics, failed everything, - and half
the nation bows in adoration. You have to believe they just don’t know,
and that’s about right. How could they know? The media played wild and
loose with the truth. The press corps went underground. And Rove’s
Rangers were everywhere, swearing to ***** Cheney’s unending lies. So
half the nation is enamored of the man whose God makes policy decisions
for him. And that worries me even more.
There has to be a Plan B, just in case John Kerry loses.

They want to trample the constitution by appointing 4 Supreme
court judges. Judges that will bury the honorable principals

Polls indicate otherwise. (I would also hope otherwise, but the
polls have been fairly accurate thus far. Bush is leading by
5 points in one poll (I forget which one), just beyond the margin
of error -- if not within said margin of error. Another poll
says it's a toss-up.)

The next few nights will be sleepless ones, for sure. In a little more

Worry is not all that useful. I'm not sure how to act on this info, though.
Best I can say is: vote and hope it counts.

The 2000 election seems like yesterday. I can still feel the despair as
the Supreme Court selected the new leader of our nation, and the world
applauded Al Gore for his gracious acquiescence.

Like he could have done much else at that point? :-)

Oh well, - next time
around, we thought. We’ll survive the four years, and fight back harder
next time. I Guess what? It’s next time now, and I’m really, really

Four years of absolute failure, and half the nation cheers wildly.

Not quite half -- just enough of the half so that Bush gets the
electoral college.
I'm not sure it's an absolute failure, though; we did capture Saddam
and maybe a third of the most wanted card deck in Iraq. Or was
it all of the deck? Is the US playing with a full deck? Don't
answer that... :-)
Of course, one noticeably absent is Osama bin Laden. He's still out
there ... somewhere.

Four
years of failed wars, failed economics, failed everything, - and half
the nation bows in adoration.

The problem is: there's no control, in the experimental sense. What
if Gore had won? Would Al Qaeda still have attacked on 2001-09-11?
Would he or someone else have tried to deploy 10 planes? (The
original plan for some reason was scaled back, according to captured
intelligence.) Would Pakistan still have helped us? Would we have
deposed Saddam? Will we ever know?
Apparently, roughly half the nation believes in Bush's policies --
and that may be enough for him to win. Note that these policies
may be dismissed by non-believers as absolute crap (and they probably
*are* absolute crap, but then I'm not a believer), but the believers
still vote for him.

You have to believe they just don’t know,
and that’s about right. How could they know? The media played wild and
loose with the truth. The press corps went underground. And Rove’s

There is: vote Dems into the House and Senate. At least that way
one might counterbalance the worst of it. (It worked for Clinton.)
Admittedly, I'm not sure if the Dems are much better than the Republicans
at this point, though -- but I for one would hope a viable third party
-- the Libertarians, maybe? -- enters the fracas. Unfortunately
the Libertarians are bit like the late Rodney Dangerfield: no respect.

It depends
If Bush wins very and square, then I'm afraid we are screwed. I would
suugest that anyone who doesn't want to live in a
Corporate-Christian Right-Theocratic Police State to leave immediately.
If Bush wins by cheating (intimidation, voter fraud, voter desinfranchiment)
then I would expect major trouble. Because then the
Bush Government would be illegitimate after Jan 20, and therefore Americans
would not be subject to obey the laws of the government.

What *specifically* has Bush done to make this a Christian State? The
one thing I can think of is his refusal to fund stem-cell research.
Is there anything else?

I've already seen a couple of articles talking about a "Republican
Meltdown" after the election in November (If Bush Wins) between the
religious right - and the Republican Center.
The last time Republicans controlled both the Executive & Legislative
Branches was in the 50's during McCarthy's Commie Witchhunts.
The biggest problem is "stacking the Supreme Court" with some Roy
Moore rightard nut jobs - but Republican Centrist's may stop this from
happening. Alot of Republican's feel like the party has been
"high-jacked" by the Religious Right.
At any rate - you've paid for your ticket (in taxes) - just get ready
for "the show"

What depends? I pointed out that someone is too stupid to proof read
their article for simple grammar errors.

If Bush wins very and square, then I'm afraid we are screwed.

'We' meaning the extreme liberal left? Then yes, you are screwed.

I would suugest that anyone who doesn't want to live in a

While this certainly won't be the case when Bush does win, you'd better
leave any way.

If Bush wins by cheating (intimidation, voter fraud, voter desinfranchiment)

Now we're getting somewhere. I believe your true colors are starting to
show.

"We" meaning the American people, and to some extent, the people of

them is a useful tool to get them into power. Beyond that, the
Republicans don't give a damn about you.

Actually, this HAS been the case since Oct. 2001. If re-elected,
nothing will be able to stop Bush from appointing extremist ideologues
to the Supreme Court who will circumvent the Constitution and
eventually cause our freedoms, such as the right to choose, to
disappear. All checks and balances will be gone, and the Congress and
Judiciary would essentially be a rubber-stamp for the Executive
Branch. In other words, dictatorship. Should that happen, America will
be dead.

You're missing the whole point. It doesn't matter who gets elected.
Either way, the agenda gets moved forward. The best way to win a duel is
to control both sides. They do. Either way, a bonesman will be in the
White House.
